Oh yeah good point - choosing Taite (who IMO is getting a far worse edit than warranted) over BOTH nice guys would wedge Ali even further under the bus than just Todd, which might have been too tempting for them to pass up.

So many good (read: evil) options to make it look like Ali failed to "find a good guy this time".  I'm sure they'll replay her "I'm sick of chasing bad boys" quote a few times too just to emphasise that she's making the W-R-O-N-G choice.  

IMO it all hinges on what their gameplan is for Charlie.  They may let him ride the clinger wave to the Top 3, or it may serve them better to have him crash out in a spectacular blaze of douchery at F4 (after all, "it's not always a fairytale")

I haven't seen anything too bad yet for Taite's SCs or edit will have to watch his SD (if it is indeed tonight) but the SCs is lots of chemistry so I could see them push that. He could benefit too from being a choice other than Charlie so look good by comparison. So far he's been more hidden compared to past F1s but his 1on1 photoshoot and soon SD will push him to frontrunner. But the ending FRC SCs of Ali and Todd's SCs already show that being F2 will make Taite/F1 default choice in a way for audience/edit/Ali's reaction sobbing her eyes out and falling to the ground. Lee/F1 was a early fan favorite up until near the end - FD/MTP is where Matty took over as the fan favorite. So they could change things up later on even more and be neutral/good with Taite up until the end (so Charlie unwanted now until he's gone and Taite replaces that). 

Charlie I think his edit so far has been the worst of the lot. So I agree it hinges on their game plan for Charlie. I've also been wondering about the SCs here where Charlie tells Ali it's not always a fairytale and she says Oh I know it's not... makes me think she may be talking about Charlie himself

I noticed these SCs appear right before Nathan saying to Charlie "I feel sorry for Ali if she ever, ever has to end up with you" So could be a bit of foreshadowing for that but not sure if the SCs of Ali upset at RC are connected.

@AllAboutLove Observations re the screencaps:

1. Good to see Ali recycling last year's Christmas tree decorations by making them into earrings.

2.  I agree it looks like a late stage RC.  This might be where she says goodbye to Rob (I can't imagine Charlie's exit warranting tears).  Unless it is Charlie's exit and she's upset because she's finally realised Mr Perfect is an illusion (both the one on the show and the concept in general).

I really don't like the stylists they've been using this season. They've had different ones which is probably why it's all over the place. I miss Anne Stringer she was so much better.  

I am leaning more towards Rob leaving unless it's someone else. Usually though they have a SC for the later RCs and this one definitely made me think so.

This seems to be the location for Charlie's boxing screencap.  

Doesn't seem very romantic so I'm wondering if it's SQT or part of a group date.  It's in Sydney so could be part of a HTD if he makes it that far and if boxing is something he does regularly (or if he knows the owner and wants to give them some free advertising ) but probably earlier IMO.

Yeah it's definitely Sydney. I think all Charlie's SCs were sleuthed to be Sydney. He lives there though so it could be HTD as well. Hard to say since his paddle SCs as well and those were speculated to maybe be his HTD. If it's a GD then I'd think others would be there? Doesn't seem like though. I checked if Charlie follows the place but doesn't seem like he does but could be like you said he knows someone there. It seems a bit random to have it there and if it was for a date I'd think it would be a sponsor on the tenplay site?

Todd has the fencing SCs so I thought maybe a GD with some athletic activities but it seems odd to have them like that and Kings Academy doesn't have fencing. There are fencing locations in Sydney and Perth/WA so it could be a date or HTD activity. I recall Matty took Georgia horseriding and talked about his love of pony club. So an activity is definitely something that's done for HTDs. 

So if not SDs or SQT/GDs it could be that the SCs for Charlie (boxing) and Todd (fencing) are HTD activities. Ali likes sports and activities like that so I could see her doing that either for a date or HTD activity.

I already did the same re: checking to see if Charlie was following the club/owner or vice versa (I also looked at the pics on their site but couldn't spot him ).  Charlie doesn't seem to be a stranger to shilling so if it was his HTD I'd think he'd try to promote someone he knows but then again we don't know how much (if any) control contestants have when deciding HTD activities.

Talking about hometowns made me think to research Perth fencing clubs. Check out the unusual shadow reflection in the mirror here - a potential match for the unusual ceiling/window structure in the background of Todd's fencing screencap IMO.

So the fencing is quite likely to be Todd's HTD IMO (which would also explain the hot kissing - they'd have had a lot of practice by then   ).  Need to go out right now but will look up more pics from UWA fencing later for confirmation.

ETA:  Haven't found an exact match for the SC but the UWA facility has a lot of black-framed windows and glass walls which could reflect/warp shadows so I could see the SC being taken here if the camera man got down low to catch the light.

ETA 2: I've now zoomed in on the first pic and the mirror in the background appears to be slightly warped (like a fun house mirror).  So IMO the mirror could be behind Todd & Ali in the SC and angled to reflect the windows/sunlight.  Thoughts?

Not sure if it is the same place. The black lines continue through the shiny part (mirror as you posted) but to me it is more sunshine/sunset or light maybe (shining in between their heads)? Could be wrong though. 

First thought I had was they were in a Greenhouse or structure like that. It almost looks like trees or a greenhouse but not sure. I can see it possibly being outside the building.

Just had a thought. What time would the sun set in Perth or Sydney in July or August? In the SC it definitely looks like sunset to me. 

If it was HTD then it is unlikely they'd be fencing this late in the day as they do the activity first earlier in the day and then later in the day they would go to the family and friends and the evening saying goodbye.

So I am thinking Todd's fencing SC is either a SD, SQT or part of FD. Which means if it's SD or SQT it is likely in Sydney area (and possibly the same for FD unless they traveled a bit outside of Sydney for FD).

@AllAboutLove Oh right yeah that does look very different in the wider shot. My screencaps came from the Facebook video which was cropped to a square - should probably have done new ones when the preview came out.

@Bobette I added the preview in wideshot view from Ep1 on the top of the No Discussion Screencaps thread (preview SCs starts around 2 min in). If anything helps with sleuthing can get SCs there too. The FB vid they had does seem to cut off some things. I've been looking all over around Sydney for fencing clubs etc and greenhouses but to no avail. May be it is at a location where they got a private training session or something.

@AllAboutLove there are greenhouses at the Royal Sydney Botanic Gardens so maybe they fence on the open lawns with a private tutor and and then go for a pash near the ferns?!  I agree it looks like sunset.  Very romantic setting IMO.

@Bobette oooo yes that's romantic They've got to be there/someplace romantic and in that area. The kiss is much more romantic as is the sunset in the background. Has to be a SD or FD I'd think (not sure they'd do fencing for a FD though). The later time in the day I've ruled out HTD.
