Personally, I can not understand ANY mentality that laughs, does not support, love or offer the best we as humanity have to offer to our children.

Garrett it's a 29 year old man who believes this, Im willing to give people like Maquel who grew up in a more reserved situation the benefit of the doubt in their personal improvement, Garrett will never experience the feeling of being a latin person in the USA because he isn't, as I never will understand what is like to be a women or a black person, so for me I will never make jokes about that or laugh about it, it's an easy thing to see and understand. IMO

I also won't go to twitter or Instagram to write bad things about him, he isn't nearly the worst person with thoughts like this but that doesn't mean his actitude is correct.JMO

I think the anonymity of the internet turns a lot of people into keyboard warriors. People press like on photos or videos they'd be embarrassed to admit to their family/friends that they ever watched.

Many people wouldn't say the things they say online to others' faces or conduct themselves in a hateful manner. I think part of that is because they want to appear less evil and know they'll be ostracized. The other part is that IMO they've dehumanized the issues by losing themselves in an online persona. How many of these people when confronted with a real-life human being with an opposite perspective remain "true believers"? I've seen middle ground videos that IMO suggest that many people don't stay staunchly opposed to others when they get to know them.

I find that there are also conflicts of interest with even the supposed true believers. How many of these alt-right crazies are married to or have dated non-white women? How many of these supposed redpill alpha he-man woman haters secretly cater to their wives' every whim? How many of these supposed extreme feminists (all men are x, y, z types) want the most traditional guy in the room?

In short, people are complicated. I'm not excusing any intolerance and I certainly wouldn't have chosen to be with a "true believer" or radical of any party or political belief but I don't think most people fit into that category.  

Frankly, I wanted a clearer picture of Garrett after the apology and I still do.

Anyway, could someone please provide the link to the hair pulling scene referenced earlier? I didn't notice Garrett pulling Becca's hair in the episodes I've seen. JMOAA

I’m not going trying to rationalize this Garrett situation by discussing differences in political of philosophical viewpoints..... because IMO that’s not my beef with him .... it’s the fact that he laughs and makes cruel fun of some very sad and relevant world situations. I’m neutral in political and social issues so I know nothing of what many are talking about ..... but I can spot an a$$hole a mile away .... and that’s what I’m seeing when I look at this man.

This was posted April 22nd when I knew next to nothing about him. I personally thought he was too aggressive during a 1st date plus being a public date.

Lol only one person walks on water in my book so yes, I agree, this is very physical!!  

Personally it would be too much for me publicly on a date or with a long term relationship but it's clear B & G are on the same page. They were both talking about seeing each other as the one in the ITMs and in the Granger Smith interview about this episode he said they had to postpone the concert for an hour because Becca and Garrett were making out. Who knows how worked up either of them got behind the scenes, obviously enough for them to all but declare love on date one!

As far as the hair grabbing, I see that as something one does in privacy, kind of like lip biting, ear biting and etc. because usually those exchanges are just previews so to speak. But it's clear Garrett is a caveman (physically speaking, not talking about emotionally or mentally in this post. So again, Becca loves it so I like it but he's a caveman and if they weren't on camera I think things could've escalated into Kaitlin territory, JMO). He also kissed Becca's neck and caressed her butt at the end of that date. Again, the butt holding would have been too much for me publicly and even the neck kissing feels very intimate.

However, this is clearly Garrett's MO, he did the same thing when dancing with his ex-wife in the wedding vid. He danced with his hand on his ex-wife's butt the whole time, that is not something I could have done in front of my grandparents and nephews but maybe I'm a prude .

I still loved the one-on-one and thought their chemistry was out of this world!

Every time I have watched a video of that portion of their date, I don’t see “hair grabbing” whatsoever.  I see a hand that reaches up to cup Becca’s head while they are kissing.  During the kiss, I see G’s hand move in a massaging motion, but never any kind of “hair grab” or “hair pull” motion.

...just my opinion on the subject.

@XQZME I agree. That is the only thing I saw also. Also, I heard the singer say they came late because they had been making-out. Just my opinion

Good point,  I don't see pulling at all either. I do think "grabbing" makes it sound more forceful than it is/was. It's obvious I can't find the right words, IMO it looks way too passionate/intense and just a tad bit quick to be called a gentle caress.

Again Becca liked it, so it's not like she's complaining

When all the talk of the hair grabbing/pulling started, I expected to see something along the lines of Fred Flintstone - cavemanish grabbing and pulling her along.  That is not what I see in the video at all.  Yes it may be a little much publicly for a first date, but while its their first 1:1, they've had time together during GD SQT and at RC's.  Its a bach world not real world first date.

IMO I don't find it any more aggressive than other F1's that early.  Bryan at the M&G anyone?  Or Jordan pushing Jo up against the wall (thought I think that was a little rougher and less smooth than he'd have liked or planned )? IMO if he or any of the others had not been pursuing the lead in somewhat of an aggressive manner, they wouldn't have been F1s.  That's just how the show works, IMO.  And I've yet to see any of the (previously mentioned) Ette's complaining about their man's style

I'm not getting into discussions of all the other crap surrounding him.  Just the video.  And IMO all it does is show he was a top contender or F1 early on and they both knew it.

Yeah, Garrett doesn't appeal to me at all; I find his smile creepy and his over the top Dumb and Dumber cheesy manner annoying, and I'm also not a fan of what I assume are his viewpoints. The story of his quickie divorce deserves further scrutiny for any future spouse as well, and I found his reveal to millions of his ex's emotional abuse to be in poor taste even if true. However, I do see a lot of chemistry with Becca and I don't find anything amiss in his behavior with HER so far.

It's always difficult and disappointing to watch the show when you know the lead's chosen one is someone you are completely turned off by. That's why for me it will be Ed 2.0. Hopefully Garrett doesn't own any green gym shorts.
