Arie Luyendyk Jr - Lauren Burnham - Bachelor 22 - Discussion #4

It seems for a number of seasons now, viewers are ticked that the love story isn't shown and that the lead appears as little more than a prop. I think Arie is still the same blue hoodie guy, he just wasn't part of the storyline. MF already has the lead under contract, so he's basically done with him during filming. His eye is already on making us like or hate the next crop of players, imo. So if the season was boring blame the man in charge. jmo.

JMO, but I don't think there was a love story this season. You had the guy saying ILY to her on the second date, one week after the first (proof IMO it's a phrase he doesn't understand as love doesn't happen that quickly), you had him dumping her and humiliating her because he was afraid she would leave him, and you had him telling Becca that he couldn't have conversations with her. This was all lust/infatuation - which is normally what we get on the Bachelor, IMO. The Bachelorettes are props too and get screwed over much worse than the Bachelors do, yet the love story still shines through. If it's there, you can see it, no matter how hard the show tries to hide it, IMO.

I saw a love story between Lauren and Arie and it's still happening today for that matter.  As far as love happening quickly, I am living proof it does happen.  6 weeks from first laying my eyes on my hubby we were married to now some close to 30 years later.  Yep, it can happen.  IMO.

I know that some don't like Arie...I get that.  I know that some don't like Laure....I get that too.  BUT IMO, one thing that really can't be denied is that Lauren and Arie are together right now and have moved in together in Scottsdale.  IMO, those are facts and not assumptions that can't be ignored.  IMO

Okay but no one here is ignoring or denying that they're together now and living in Scottsdale. Some of us just don't buy that it's some epic love story is all. JMO.

Yeah...practically every single couple was still together 2 months after the proposal. The majority of couples moved in together as well. It's not even my opinion: Bachelor history shows that engagements, being together 2 months after the proposal, and moving in together do not have any correlation to longeivity or increases the chances of marriage. If it was, this show would have a 90%+ success rate, instead of ~15%. IMO.

Too funny. Who knew Arie would be much more entertaining after season wrapped.

It’s funny because I wasn’t a fan of Arie on Emily’s season, but I liked him much more after his season. Go figure.

Same, @sanlee088! I didn't get what all the hubbub was about with Arie during Emily's season. . I wasn't even going to watch his season, but there was something intriguing between Arie and Lauren. It was almost mesmerizing watching him chase her.
