Garrett Yrigoyen - *Sleuthing Spoilers*

@sosleepy....I know excuses have been made for him that most folks don’t check what they like on SM, he does not get a pass from me on this but to each their own. Since IMO, those are indeed his convictions, I am glad he didn’t bother to cleanse his IG before appearing on the show. I stand for getting rid of folks from SM that perpetuate bigotry one at a time if that’s what it takes. He may or may not change his ways but I bet he will never go on IG to put out hatred again in his life so it’s a win for the good of our greater society at large...jmho.

Becca should have asked him many questions but she didn’t know anything about him before night one. He knew she was going to be the lead and could easily find out some things about her especially her liberal views just by looking at her SM accounts. I’ll be curious to see what he discloses to her and how he presents himself. I remember one poster on Instagram referenced how liberal she was and wondered if Garrett could be in a relationship with her bc of that. She values honesty and I wonder how upfront and honest he was. And knowing how different they are did he have any concerns? So many questions....

I think Garrett will be presented as a good/family guy. The drama surrounding him will be the same ole “is he ready for an engagement after his broken marriage.” He’ll be the risky choice bc of that, with Blake the “safe bet.”

The show won’t touch the political differences with a ten foot pole. I think the general audience will remain clueless about this possible rift, and he will be likable.

Here is the thing. Do I think 2 people with different political ideologies can be married? Of course, absolutely. Case in point my mom who is liberal, and my dad (and later step dad) who are both conservative. The problem is that in Becca and Garrett’s case, they both appear to not just be political, but passionately Political, in opposite extremes. That’s how it can get tricky with personality conflicts imo. I am also passionately political at times, and someone who is passionately political on the opposite side of the spectrum would be a deal breaker for me.

I missed his first Instagram so I couldn’t see his posts but other than the likes (which to me are more hateful than political) how is he outspoken on his politics?  To me likes are not being outspoken.  All I MO.

This one that his brother is following that @bluwavz found yesterday appears to be the real one. It was public for a couple of hours, then it went private. Up until this morning it was still private, then 5 hours ago he posted his BIO pic and made it public. I posted this one on the first page of this thread for easy access. Except I doubt Becca is all that feminist despite the marches and insta posts. She wouldn’t have chosen a guy with such set ideas of manhood which no doubt translates to how he thinks a relationship should be between a man (manly man of course) and a woman imo. In general, the louder an Ette screams, “I’m soooo f$@/ feminist,” the bigger the douche she chooses imo

Conservative doesn't mean racist or bigoted. I have many conservative friends and family. These bigoted people are taking over conservatism and the conservatives I know are not happy about it. Now Becca should have made sure that Garrett was simply conservative, not latently racist, homophobic and bigoted. JMO.

Idk. JMO, but I (and most people here) have criticized these contestants for far less “atrocities” than being blatantly homophobic/offensive/discriminatory.  I love Becca, but that doesn’t make Garrett immune to my (justified, imo) criticism just cause she picked him.

I so totally agree. Bachelorette 10 is another example.

If you're a feminist, just act like one and get involved in their causes. No need to try and justify it to everyone by declaring you're a feminist iMHO.

Check up on IG this hour reveals more smiles and thank you's. When I looked at his followers yesterday while it was public, and today, they appear to be normal people IOW not celebrities or known people, a lot of them are private and I thought maybe they were friends. Now that I see all the happy words of encouragement and some make personal remarks, it looks like many of them are in fact friends. I could be wrong.

Yup. The clogging up the handicapped stall and making fun of other cultures working out ... isn’t a whole lot better than liking offensive stuff online either. 

I complain about one, I complain about both.  Equal opportunity critisizer here.
