Genuinely interested in your response to this. Thanks.
I wonder about this as well - I believe it was Ashley S who said Ash was an atheist (or maybe she meant agnostic). Either way doesn't matter - it just makes me wonder if JP is a card carrying Jew and that his mother would want him to marry a nice Jewish girl. She could become one if she wanted to, but if she's not a religious person to begin with, would she do that - I don't know.

Ashley said the article was baloney, to put it nicely.

Oh Gosh! Look what I unintentionally started (as a joke) I'll bring the pitchforks and torches to the meeting when the board flips upsidedown in a couple episodes.
My husband has been wearing Ray Ban Aviators for all of the 28 years we've been married, they go in and out of fashion LOL and he still wears a pair of Ambermatic's I bought him for Christmas 25 years ago.
I think the ones that Ash and JP are wearing are Aviator Tech's because of the bar over the nose, Ash's lenses are a different color to JP's, but as Anders said Deanna wore white sunglasses (which I believe were Oakley's) and we thought at the time that it was a shout out to Jesse.

what article? I just wonder if Ash (no matter her religious affiliations) would convert to Judaism, if it came to that.

Not Iron but I can say that in my experience, most young, urban Jews are culturally Jewish but not really religious. At "worst," he probably honors the High Holidays and Passover and goes to temple once in a blue moon. Otherwise, if Ashley can learn to make latkes, I'd say they're in business. :D
Big: You know, Manhattan has a lot of beautiful women.
Carrie: What an amazing observation!
Big: But the thing is, after awhile, you just wanna be with the one who makes you laugh.

Thanks, Alanna, I concur. Just want to add that from my experience as a LI Jew, if JP were very religious and marrying a fellow Jew were a top priority, he wouldn't go on the show in the first place. If Ash is not particularly observant of her faith, whatever it is, I doubt it will be a problem. Would the Rosenbaums love for their son to marry a "nice Jewish girl"? Without a doubt, but I suspect the nice part is ultimately more important than the Jewish part. They may not be thrilled if he is asked to convert, or to have their grandchildren raised in a strict Catholic (or Muslim, or Pentecostal or Mormon, or even Orthodox Jewish) upbringing, though, so as I said, if Ashley is not devout, it won't be a problem. And if she's an atheist, that probably wouldn't be a problem either.
PS Ashley, I have a great latke recipe if you're interested.

I agree that there is no way he'd go on this show if that was a priority. I have very good friends, he's Jewish, and she's Catholic, neither are very strict religiously, but they are exposing their children to both faiths. I will admit, they've had some issues with the Jewish MIL, at Christmas time, but they told her, this is what we're doing, and she finally accepted it. I think it just boils down to, anything is possible, its a matter of what's important to your relationship and if you want to work at it.

I only brought up the Jewish thing because there’s been speculation that Connie and Ash’s split may be because of religious issues. I just wonder if they turn out to be an issue for JP and Ash. And maybe that’s another theme that comes later

First, I can support Alanna point of view as well because I am one of the recipients of the Jewish faith that is not practicing it on a regular basis as I am not a religious Jew, although I am definitely celebrating the holidays and going to the synagogue once in a while. I believe that even if the family is not religious they would like that their son will marry a Jewish woman; however they are more open to different faith than the religious Jews.

Yeah that is what RS told us. The real reason is probably that they didn't have enough chemistry to work with anyway.
But it really suprises me that anyone that is religious would go on a dating show like this. If you intend to marry within your religion or even your culture you should stick to social gatherings from that religion/culture rather than choose to "find love" on this crazy how. Love can make a lot of things work but only if you are willing to compromise and for some people religion and even culture is not one of those. Just saying.

Unless he's a complete imbecile or weasel, I don't see him proposing to a non-Jewish girl if it's a problem to marry her. I guess he could also be rebelling against Mom & Dad at 34 years old but if that's the case, he has way bigger issues than religious differences with Ash. LOL!
