I don't discount that because the ex said he found out a couple of weeks ago. I looked at the filming schedule and IMo it's possible. Lets say the ex didn't know she was on the show, filming her HTD I'm sure there was chatter that got back to him. He knew enough that the show ended in a proposal, his words.

Arie becomes Lauren’s Ross imo. Doesn’t do the big gesture when he could have and only after he realizes he can lose her, he comes back into her life and proposes.

I'm not saying that this scenario did or did not happen, but it is plausible to me. 
Becca and Ross have joint friends I would imagine. One of Beccca's friends contacts one of Ross's and boom you have a plausible situation. It may not have been contact between the two of them directly. It could have been through common friends.

I could believe that the show contacted him, but her saying I knew you’d do this ... and his reply being “ I knew you would” suggests to me that she contacted him... or had someone else call him... to let him know what was happening and where she’d be. Somethings fishy about the whole scenario, and there’s no doubt in my mind that she had some part in her ex crashing the filming of the show.

Also, am I misremembering? Didn't Ross say (which could have simply been for tv purposes) that HE hunted down the right people to call and find her, that it took him awhile but he was able to succeed?

I have a feeling tptb may have learned more about Ross during the time of her HTD and they contacted him. That is unless this was a grand plot and they had his visit set up from the get go.

I didn't pay much attention to Ross when he was on screen because an ex returning, regardless of the location, is no big deal on this show. But my curiosity was heightened a little bit as last night's local news mentioned a Stanford coach was trending to be the new Bachelor on SM. I didn't know Ross was at Stanford this past year - not that it makes him any more attractive!

@northernviewer Just my own personal experience and opinion, when you have lived through the push and pull, you expect them to find out you are happy and moving on and to try to sabotage it, because they have done it before. Unfortunately, in my case, I had to fall for it before I got smart enough to realize, they didn’t love me, they just don’t want to lose what is “theirs”.

Perhaps, because I lived this, my ex found out about my happiness from mutual friends, which is how I could see Ross finding out. 

If you haven’t lived this push and pull, I understand it seems strange. And I consider myself a strong woman too. But I have seen many women fall into this trap. That is why I learned to “listen” to a person’s actions and not words. People say what they think they should do, but their actions show what is truly important to them. IMO, Ross would have been back to old behaviors in a week, maximum.

Just my experience and opinion.

See I don’t believe that for a second. They were together for seven years and they were on and off for at least some of that time. Becca has said that it was a unhealthy relationship, and that it was difficult to end. Her saying “I knew you’d do this” and his reply fit perfectly with that – it’s the same fight they have had dozens of times in the past, and they knew what the other would do and say before it happened.

Regarding how he knew (that others have brought up) a very natural explanation is that the Bachelor circus didn’t go unnoticed in Prior Lake, and some old friend of his called him I CA and told him what he needed to know.
