To be honest anybody that's trawling social media and contesting negative comments is very insecure - winner or not. Laura has also shown she is shameless in promoting her brand through social media so she wants to reap the benefits but is unwilling to suffer the bad side. I feel sorry that people are being cruel and frankly its astounding that people feel the need to talk rubbish about strangers but that's the double edge sword with fame and if you go on TV like this you are chasing some form of imfamy.

Elise is on IG today defending herself against cruel comments from random people so IMO it's 'same, same' with regards to Laura doing similar. I think Elise and Laura calling people out for what is simply inappropriate and unnecessary is fantastic!

I'm not sure how Laura can be called 'shameless' for promoting her brand on social media. This is just normal practice for anyone with a small business and she would be crazy if she didn't. She was already clearly promoting it online before the show began and I don't understand why she should have to suspend advertising just because the show is on air.

I have no problem with Laura's activities around brand promotion - I work in marketing so I see it as a smart business move (it's just annoying as a viewer IMO). But let's be honest getting Flo to promote Toni May a few days after her elimination is leveraging your "famous" friends and I think that's pretty shameless. I just think that if you live by the (SM) sword then you have to thick skinned about the consequences. I don't think it's worth her time to get on FB and clap back at people's negative comments, she would be better off talking to her supporters. In marketing, we always value positive interactions as these help build brand communities and we never "feed the trolls" by responding.

@solaroo I think it's been suggested that if Laura were F1 she would wait until after the finale to promote heavily, as she will have plenty of media attention then. Although it makes sense to me that she promotes her brand while the show is airing, as that is when people will be seeing her pieces on their screens. Grab that opportunity, girl!

If I didn't know she was a jewellery designer I wouldn't even blink at how much her jewellery has been shown. IMO hands are symbolic of intimacy and connection, and a common close up shot used on the Bachelor, so nothing really out of the ordinary IMO.

That being said I 100% think a primary reason for her being on this show was to promote her brand, it's the perfect vehicle for that! Don't think anyone goes on this show for love...except maybe Cobie, I can't think what a sweetie such as herself got out of the experience (other than some great friends)!?

Completely agree. Also, Elise didn't directly comment on the negative post. She commented on a comment defending her. Also the reply is different. Laura's meme IMO was ridiculous, gave off an air of superiority where as Elise's response was more classy JMO

Hi @Schnitty4lyf In an ideal world, I think she could wait until the finale is over to hit the promotion hard, but as a fellow small business owner with big rent and other constant overheads, you just can't afford to sit on your hands for months at a time and keep your brand and business out of the public eye. And that's just looking at it from a pragmatic point of view, whether the show is airing on TV or not. She is being opportunistic but good luck to her IMO.

I totally agree with your 2nd comment, I wouldn't have blinked either. Doesn't bother me. You can choose to focus on it or not.

I think at this stage with only a few days to go, they would all be getting a bit restless, they've all defended themselves recently. Elise's comment was more thought out and considered, whereas Laura's was more reactionary imo. Tara's been defending her family and criticising the edit too. I would hate to be in their position and would find it difficult not to get sucked into it all, they're only human! Elise's marketing background must be helpful to her as IMO she has been able to maintain and translate her poise, class and grace in her SM presence. Smiley

Absolutely agree. I actually think it would be incredibly difficult for all 22 of the girls and I'm willing to cut them all some slack in this regard. It's not like they were public figures before this, or used being talked about and judged so harshly online by random members of the public. It must take an iron will to say absolutely nothing in the face of the keyboard warriors mindlessly trotting out cruel and unnecessary remarks about them on SM. IMO, you could tell from Tara's response the other day that experiencing it from her side had been hurtful.

Sorry but I have never seen a F1 self-promote the way that Laura has done. From any season, any show, any country. If any other contestant was doing it who was potential F1 I have no doubt that it would not be seen as something positive or genuine. Laura doesn't get a pass from me on it "just because".

Just catching up but have to say along with others, never has a F1 ever gone to other pages (not their own) and commented back to defend themselves. They ALL get hate. Laura is not some special snowflake. So I will call out what I see and state it as I see it.

To me, Laura is all about herself and self-branding. It's her number one thing IMO. I think Laura has proven a pattern since I've sleuthed her from back in March until now, that she is all about "me me me me".

All I have to say is, good luck Matty.
