I think Arie is just arrogant enough that he thinks TPTB really like him and won’t run him over with their bus. He’s in for a rude awakening when he realizes he ain’t Sean and that bus is coming. JMO

The board I was on then the recapper made so much fun of this. Her body was literally rejecting him.

Surprisingly I like Jesse Palmer as a college football analyst.

Production "strongly encouraged" Arie to get engaged when he wasn't ready.

When he wasn't being watched 24/7 by handlers he contacted Lauren and they continued their relationship with out production knowing.

Arie was in contact with both women and by the season premier he had a stronger connection with Lauren.

He notified production and they made a plan to film the break up with Becca and the beginning of his "dating" relationship with Lauren.

That's why he told the press he fell in love with both women during his initial press tour to set up the switch

I could see this theory play out. I keep thinking/saying that the only way for Arie to "come on top" would be if he broke up with Becca before he started liking Lauren on SM and saying about "falling in love with 2" ... that would mean in the 2-week period after FRC. If that didn't happen, I would imagine he had some sort of communication with Lauren before breaking up with Becca ... and I don't mean just that "premiere call" that RS has informed us of ... no way he just picks up where he left and starts a new relationship, they needed to sort things out and he sure wanted to know where she stands. And I repeat, I have no problem with Arie breaking up with Becca (after 1 day, 1 week or 1 month) and going after Lauren, starting a relationship with Lauren before ATFR and being happy about it.

But I like people who take accountability for their actions and that means come up-front why he chose the "wrong girl" at the first place ... but like I said, "falling in love with two" sure sounds like an excuse to me ... so I guess he'll be sticking to that story.

No they are not nice. But the recent information that Jason and Molly are going to be involved with the ATFR in some way makes me think that at least on some level, they are going to be supportive of Arie and Lauren by bringing out the only other couple who survived a switch and now have a happy marriage with a great family and got a TV wedding out of the mess that was their season.

I know that some people who don't approve of Arie's actions would like to see him being dragged over the coals or run over by TPTB ... but IMHO he isn't THE WORSE ONE of the story ... in this contorted story the biggest hypocrite and a lying player is TPTB machine ... they are the ones who don't deserve to win - ever ... and yet they do ... by manipulating the audience to take sides and turn against the players ... the players who, yes, are responsible for their own actions ... but they are still just the pawns, not the master in disguise ... so whoever is able to play it better and win over TPTB is the winner in my book.

I actually think that all this mess really did indeed start in (or even before) the 2 week period immediately following the FRC. As I posted recently, the show tried to shut down RS from spoiling this season with a cease & desist letter to RS's attorneys on Nov 22 and I don't think it's merely coincidental that they tried to shut him down this season, after letting him spoil other seasons over many years. IMO they wanted to hide something that they knew about before they sent that Nov 22 letter.

I think I've become desensitized to the "in love with two women" and even an "ILY" to two women because I've seen it multiple times from multiple leads over multiple seasons. It's stupid, but seems to be part of the show "formula".

IMO Sarah Gertrude Shapiro said it best in this interview:

What would you say to someone who is considering going on a reality show?

That you truly cannot know what you're signing up for. You can't understand the power of editing. There are a lot of really smart people making these shows. It's a chess game you can't win. There have been some people on reality TV who have totally worked the system, like the Kardashians, who have final cut on their show because they're producers. But on "The Bachelor," you can't anticipate what you're going to feel like when you have no phone, no Internet, no computer, no books, no radio, can't control over your food and there's a ton of alcohol. It's pretty hard to keep control.

BTW - that entire interview that I linked to should be required reading; Shapiro pulls back the curtain of reality TV like no one else I've ever heard from.

@Lucas15 I wised up a long time ago about the editing. That's why I don't buy into the "villains", when they're cutting and pasting PI's and VO's together. When these ex boyfriends and girlfriends comes back. I just don't bite.

As for the ending, it may not be he picked the best choice but he picked the only choice at the time. Maybe we got our first rejection at the FRC this season, certainly a first.

Years ago, there was a cast person approached by TPTB(prior to the M&G starting to film) with following the role of being a villain. The male declined and was told his services would no longer be needed. He was replaced with another cast person, who was eliminated at that RC and someone else was cast as the villain that season.

^^ Sounds like something TPTB would do, and have probably done more than once. JMO

I've read the speculation about that. I guess nothing is impossible but as much as I've struggled to find a rationale why Arie chose Becca over Lauren I've mostly failed. That said I have an even harder time figuring a rationale in which Lauren would reject Arie - and then a few weeks later take him back. though if she did then I can understand a rationale why Arie would pick Becca (he had no other choice) and go back with Lauren if she would then have him. Perhaps though it wasn't a rejection at the FRC - maybe it was her pulling out due to something that happens that hasn't been on our radar screen yet. LCD and MTP are still yet to come and I don't think we know much about what happens then. But that doesn't fit with what we think we know about the FRC (and Arie closing a door on the car presumably taking F2 away).
