Ugh TP! Please stop mocking Kendall and her taxidermy...I dislike how much they've turned her into a caricature with this when she is imo, one of the more interesting contestants in this franchise. There is soooo much more to her than this. Look how full of humility she was with Krystal on the 2:1! I absolutely love her and Arie together because I feel like they have such a raw chemistry and Arie is so himself with her....but that is part of the problem...he isn't nervous or quiet around her and that tells me he isn't as into her as she is into him. If Lauren wasn't around, I think he would dive more into Kendall for sure. I loved the questions her mother and sister were asking her. Really thoughtful family she has!

Becca's talk with her mother was so sweet...it made me tear up a little. Notice how Arie was edited shown speaking to both Becca's and Lauren's moms but not Tia's and Kendall's....I wonder if this has been a pattern with other F2s/F1s in other seasons. Arie said he was falling for Tia, Becca, and Kendall, but he told Lauren's mother he was falling IN LOVE. Plus, Arie was sweating bullets over appeasing Lauren's family, too. And he disarmed Lauren's brute of dad very nicely. Way to go , Arie!

So.Kendall's HTD focused on how Kendall is probably not ready for engagement and unsure if Arie is the one (goodbye F3). Becca's focused on the loss of her dad and protectiveness of her family (heartbreak later?) Lauren's HTD focused on how much she is falling in love with him, how nervous and awkward Arie was, plus her mom's skepticism and Dad's trust in his daughter ( could foreshadow heartbreak?)

Poor Tia, she was a wreck after being cut. She could be a strong candidate for next Bachelorette.

I see Lauren the one most genuinely invested emotionally with Arie. And vice versa.

@agentcurls I completely agree about the OTT focus on Kendall's taxidermy!

After this episode, I can't imagine him picking anyone other than Lauren. I am starting to think that the returning ex-boyfriend is just a teaser and ends up being a minor distraction.

Could it be that they are showing us a real love story?

We have WTA on Sun and then one more episode on Mon? Is it just me or is it a shorter season than normal.

I forgot to say that I LOVED the music in the scene where he and Lauren are kissing in the lighthouse.

WTA is Sunday, Feb. 25
FD/FS epi is Monday, Feb 26
FRC/AFTR is Monday, March 5

I haven't watched this week's episode yet because I'm OBSESSED with the Olympics. I'll check in after the upcoming episodes probably.

For several reasons, I am approaching Arie's season very differently than the way I typically watch and post about this show. I don't really want to sleuth, analyze, or discuss the qualities of the woman. Because of that and because I don't want to accidentally spoil myself, I have stayed away from this Board this season. What I will post is this:

I have always liked Arie. From his time on EM's season, to that ATFR, to real life, to this season as the lead, I have a sincere, deep admiration and respect for the man that Arie is. I like his personality, and I believe he has a big heart. I like his approach to people, difficult situations, conflict, and this experience. Arie is a real guy. Not perfect. Not without flaws. Not without mistakes or regrets. I love that he owns up to that. Watching WTA, I was reminded just how much I like Arie. I love his honesty, his lack of ego, his ability to articulate what he thinks, his willingness to listen to others, and his maturity. I very much hope that he was able to follow his heart and use logic to end up with a great life partner. I want that very much for Arie, a man whom I believe deserves his happily ever after. So, even if you don't see me posting, please know that I am watching and will probably be more active after the F1 is chosen.

@MiaHawk, well said. Although late in coming, I too am now a fan of Arie's. He has grown on me, and I really like him. I am also hoping he ends up with the right person for their happily ever after.

In watching WTA, I thought his responses to Krystal were right on! But I was taken aback by Caroline's veiled comments ("you said you were there to find a wife") and my heart sank. He had an odd expression on his face.

Anyone have any guesses on what her comments might point to? She is close friends w/ Becca, right? Could it be something that happened with her?

Did anyone watch last night? Any thoughts after the FSDs? I haven't had a chance to watch yet.

Not yet, Veg. But an unspoiled friend of mine (not on this board) said she saw a preview of the ex returning and that he's Becca's! I'm a little shocked because I thought it would be Lauren's. However, I can see TP bringing him on to throw a wrench into the season and create drama and also to bring out the alpha-male in Arie for Becca specifically if they thought there was looming trouble with a Lauren proposal. And if there was, it's like they are showing us in reverse why that shouldn't have been the case when I see in this edit just how much both Arie and Lauren are falling head over heels over one another.  By contrast, yes, I think Becca is saying all of the right things and I think she is liking Arie a lot, but I just don't see the intensity in emotion from Becca about him. Not like Lauren.

I watched it and must say that I wasn't happy with Arie telling both Becca and Lauren that he loved them. He also told Kendall he was "falling" in love with her knowing he was sending her home.

I too was surprised the ex was Becca's. And yeah thought the same thing, that he was brought on to bring some drama to their relationship. In watching the scene where Arie and the ex have their talk, I didn't see the same kind of panic in Arie's eyes at the thought Becca might leave with the ex that was there when Lauren said she was tempted to leave.

I couldn't put my finger on why I don't see it with Becca until this episode's date...she does most of the talking and seems to be trying a bit too hard.

Also, compare the location of Becca's overnight vs. Lauren's overnight???

I am still trying to figure out the meaning of Caroline's comment at the WTA and am anxious to see how it will play out next week.
