That was 3 hours of raw emotion. What did everyone think of Rachel narrating the finale? I loved it!

Yeah, this finale is really confusing to me. It's hard for me to understand Rachel's behavior towards Bryan - the watch, the reaction after the ILY, the reaction when her family went after him, the way she was gushing over him at his HTD, but seemed disconnected from Peter - with how she acted towards Peter in tonight's episode. It did seem like if he truly wanted to propose, she would have picked him. Ugh, I just feel bad for Bryan right now. It sucks to feel like you're second choice, whether or not that's what really happened. IMO.

It all seemed to scream F1. But, then, if it was Bryan, I don't get why she was pushing the proposal so hard with Peter. Those tears weren't an act. They were signs of real heartbreak and distress. Was it her just falling back on old patterns of wanting what she couldn't have? Did something happen after HTDs that made her want Peter again? Was it just an ego and control thing, where she wanted Peter to propose even if she didn't necessarily want to say yes?  I sincerely don't know. Roberto was default and I'm the idiot who totally believed Ali when she used to say that it was always him. She also looked very happy with him for most of their 18 months together. I don't know if we'll ever get the real story, but I just feel for Bryan. He's had the hardest time, constantly being mocked and attacked on social media and then on top of that, he probably has to wonder if he's second choice (or at least, deal with everyone thinking that). IMO.

I wish Rachel could have let go of Peter easier, but in the end, all that matters is she did let him go.  If Rachel wanted to Peter she could have accepted dating, or she could have said, yes, please propose when he said he would.  It was a brutal breakup and parting kiss, but it was a break.  

Bryan won the woman and honestly, I think that is all he cares about.  We all still watched Rachel fall in love with Bryan, she just needed to get out her own way to let it happen.

BTW, I am not a jewelry girl, but if someone gave me a rock that pretty, I would jump up and down too.

I know! Other F1s have had to deal with much worse, like Molly and Chris. I still always feel bad for them! I agree, Bryan seems very confident in their relationship and doesn't seem to show any bitterness or jealousy, which is huge. And I do think they seem to really be best friends, which is a great sign for a relationship.

Still catching up on all posts, but I just wanted to give a quick note how I can understand the points that all 3 of you guys have made above (@Aria @stuckinsc @sfrank)

I can see R/B's deep love for each other post show and on all the eps leading up to this, but I do kind of feel Aria in that "a bit of a downer" vibe. I totally don't see R/B as similar to Chris/Whitney at all and I generally think and hope that R/B realize the important thing is she didn't care enough about Peter to truly choose him in some way and that she DID care enough about Bryan to choose him. Peter didn't leave like Graham, Frank or Brooks and I tend to think he was/is hurt in some way, hence the breakdown and IMO petty/bitter SM behaviour post show (and some on show bitter behaviour, too.).

However, actually watching the breakup with Peter ... was more brutal than I expected and IMO no matter how confident you are, watching your current fiancee break down like that over someone else can't feel great. At least Rach seemed more together at ATFR than Jasmine from BetteCA was, but I still feel a bit bad for Bryan nonetheless and did not get the same awesome feeling from this finale that I was hoping for as a viewer, similar to how I felt with BetteCA. I really should just not hope for anything at all and always just fully prepare for Bummerville from now on

Weirdly enough, this is making me appreciate the Nick/Vanessa and Kaitlyn/Shawn relationships so much more now even though I haven't been huge fans of them as couples . N/K totally gave their F1's full confidence IMO with their approach to the F2 relationship - maybe it might seem cold, or minimising, but honestly after watching the BetteCA and this finale, I would greatly prefer this approach as a viewer AND if I was in the F1's shoes.

If R/B are both happy, that's all that matters and I truly wish the best for them and I will continue to follow and support them ... but I would be lying if I said this finale gave me all the feels.

As for Peter, from this finale, I've actually become quite fascinated by him now in a weird way. I dislike his shady behaviour on SM and that breakup convo with Rach was HORRIBLE . The mediocre life thing? ring/proposal over love thing? Truly cringeworthy and a bitter/I'm hurt so I'll hurt you look. Not admirable behaviour by any means. However, I'm kind of intrigued by how brutal and raw he came across, and he did seem truly sad at ATFR to me. FTR I like Bryan a LOT more as a person and think he's just so happy, fun and loving... but I'm kind of intrigued by Peter in a way I wasn't expecting to be and NGL, I might think he's petty, shady, kind of bitchy (), emotionally unavailable/a mess, and definitely do NOT think he deserves the pedestal he's been put on ... BUT I wouldn't be opposed to watching how he navigates and relationship on the other wavelength, where for once he has to do the chasing. If he does become Bachelor and that scenario happens, I wouldn't be mad. Damn. Have I become the "Rachel" of viewers, so intrigued by this IMO mess of a man?

Rachel has to lead the other guys whether she wants them or not. The other guys have said that halfway through the season they knew Brian was going to be it. Someone has to go to the end, so she is using them. So how is she any different than Peter?

The names are interchangeable. This applies every season. No need to be p*ssed off if they are all using one another. None of them are special snowflakes. Last season she was whining about Nick, but now it is all different? How exactly?  

The difference is when you go on this show as a contestant you know from the get got that it could not be you in the end and when you are the lead you expect  the contestant to tell you that they don't feel a connection and leave. Tptp don't need Peter for the bachelor,  they can get one of the other rejected guys or someone new per CH. We don't know if he will even get the gig maybe why we see some of his bitterness.

Sorry, but we have know for years that people can't just get up and leave. Yes, some have been allowed because it suited tptb and the storyline, but others weren't. And just because that is what the lead may prefer, doesn't mean that is what people do. Let's face it, most people go on the show now to build their brand/business, so why would they want to leave early even if they weren't feeling it...particularly for a lead who clearly showed her guys that she was all about Bryan?

I agree, tptb don't need Peter for the Bachelor and they could pick any guy from her season or go back like they did with Brad 2 or Nick, but maybe they want Peter more than any of those guys. Based on his edit and how much time was devoted to him, I would say it is his for taking. Is that his fault? Will he get the gig? Maybe or maybe not. Maybe Peter has reason to be bitter. Maybe Rachel does too. Either way, I don't like it. When people can't let stuff go post show, it only ends up making them look petty. If they are happy, they move on. If not, they continue to harp. We shell see who does what.

Sorry but they can leave if they want to. Peter came on this show for the bachelor plain and simple. If Rachel didn't have to be there for the ATFR, I seriously doubt she would be there. CH asked the question she replied as nicely as she could. I'm sure she is over that show, seeing how happy she is

Can you elaborate and whom is this towards? I think Rachel clearly stated the break up with Peter was very hard. Apparently she has her happy ending so I'm curious if the contention is toward Peter, Rach, or Bryan?

She taught herself since Nick season. Too bad SM ain't here for it. She's so in love that she's retweeting stuff on Twitter about the F2 and can't post a message about her one true love. imo

Rachel was in a loose loose situation.
If she were all nice to him, fans would have said oh she is still in love with him.
I even thought she could have been more confronting than that. I'm fine with qhat she said because it was just the truth, and Peter has been praised for telling "his truth" about Bryan so why can't she do the same.

Anyway yeah she can't win in that situation.

And if Peter is the bachelor, I think the fall won't be pretty at all.

So 3rd season in a row where the FIR rose gets the final rose! Well all the next crop of Bachette guys will be hoping for it

Nah, I personally think if rachel had checked her attitude at the door she would have come out of it looking better than she did. She looked like she wanted a fight and peter looked like he wanted to be elsewhere. Even if you're mad, I would personally say don't let it show, especially not by playing twitter games, cause then it shows this guy still affects you.

Just pay attention to selling Dr. Abs merchandise and wait till peter has his season to enjoy his downfall if that's what she really wants cause right now he'll stay winning in the eyes of SM

PS. I did enjoy Rachel repeatedly stating that this show/process was not right for Peter.

I'm a fan of Big Rach (and how cute was it that Bryan put that in his Spanish dictionary for her ).

Rachel got caught in the emotions that may not have resulted in an ideal F2 breakup, but I truly enjoy her articulate manner, sass and fun loving vibe

ETA: I also enjoyed Rach's "living my best life" comment. I usually try to steer away from overuse of millennial terminology ( I'm one but barely) but slay, queen, slay
