Peter wants Rachel to dump him so he doesn't look like the bad guy. JMO.

That is the saddest reaction to someone saying they love you ever on this show. This night is making me appreciate Brooks more and more. He had the courage to man up, Peter is just so much about Peter. If you love someone you take the leap. He is too into himself to love that much. Maybe that can change for someone else, but not Rachel.

Thankfully, I don't think Rachel is quite confused. I think a better word would be baffled. Baffled that this guy that she's been into for a while can't see how great she is and can say one thing but do another.
