They both knew what they wanted, it just wasn't the same thing. Peter's the one who seemed to finally put a stop to it, which is what people were saying he should do, but now he's a jerk for it? I think they were both just all wrapped up in their emotions and ideals. I believe Peter's apology was genuine and I wish Rachel had just accepted it, but I guess that was payback for Peter's SM likes.
