I find that annoying every season to be honest. I wish it wasn't such a either-or situation. Just because I criticise someone it doesn't mean it's because I'm a rabid fan of the other, nor does me defending someone I personally feel is getting overly criticised make me a rabid fan of theirs. I don't really feel that strongly about any of these people, yet at times it feels like this board is pushing me to pick a side. Like during Ben's season, I liked both Lauren and JoJo and I liked Ben and Lauren together, but all the JoJo bashing at the end made me take a step back from the BenLo threads simply because I couldn't look at the gushing the same way when it felt like there was a flipside to it. JMO. As harsh as I may be myself at times, I sometimes wish people would focus more on the positive. It would make it easier for me to stay neutral and objective. Not trying to tell people what to post, just saying how I feel.

So far, I don't think Peter has committed any major crimes. IIRC people who actually know him have said he's a great guy who's involved in charitable causes and what not. Some SM likes aren't enough reason for me to start thinking he's an undercover a-hole. I have more reasons to side-eye Bryan at this point because of his actions before going on the show, but he may end up being another Jordan, who knows. I feel like I don't really know him at all at this point, so I can't really judge him either way. I wasn't particularly impressed with either guy going into the season, but based on what I've seen on the show, I prefer Peter's approach and disagree with the notion that he's not into Rachel at all. That is all. I'm not obsessed with him or shipping him and Rachel. If I defend him a lot it's simply because I feel like he's currently getting criticised a lot and his connection with Rachel often denied, while I definitely think it's there. I wish I didn't feel like it's getting me branded as a rabid Peter fan. JMO.

I don't find it annoying because I ignore it. And I pretty much read most of the posts. Just saying. Everyone has their shades of grey.

OT a bit but.....
IMO....this season became contentious early on because Bryan was relentlessly dragged and compared in a negative way to Peter. Love for Peter brought a new group of posters to this board who brought a load of negativity/disrespect with them IMO. Fortunately those new posters are gone and the season seems more positive/respectful now IMO. I started the season neutral and open minded to both but a few episodes in sided with Bryan because I thought he seemed a better match for Rachel and found him genuine. Honestly it frustrated me that Bryan got blasted for everything so I started to watch Peter more closely to see what made people like him so much. The more I saw of Peter the less I liked him. The more I saw of Bryan the better I liked him.  It isn't a competition between the two for me....it is about seeing the one I think ends up with Rachel whether he is my favorite or not. By sleuthing I try to look for clues to who that guy will be and IMO this season the F1 will be Bryan. I see Bryan and Rachel as the best match and based on clues think Rachel does too.
Based on sleuthing/clues/ edit IMO Peter will be the Bachelor.

First time posting here -- just started lurking this season (as I had no idea this forum even existed despite having seen every damn season of this show) but have been taking the time to learn how this board works (and the right place to post; hope this is it!) before jumping into the discussion.

At this point, the back and forth between the presumed F2 has me more confused than ever if only because I DO see Peter's interest in Rachel and understand the fact that he's being a bit guarded. TOG (bless you for this, SB) comes across as open because of his willingness to lead with his mouth--literally and figuratively, with the kissing and in the sense that he's quick to use words to reassure her and make her believe in the fairy tale, however unrealisfic it may be.

IMO, I think Peter has learned to hold back because of what's occurred in his previous relationships and his therapy. He seems nervous with her and as if he's telling himself to calm down to learn more about what he likes about HER, rather than buying into what the produced romance of the situation he's in is forcing him to feel. All JMO. I, personally, think he's approaching a very bizarre dating experience very smartly? But agree that it may not bode well for this fast-paced environment.

TOG comes across as all-in, but I can't shake the notion that he's full of hot air? Could be the editing, could be how much SHE has to push him to focus on what happens to their relationship when they're not living in the world of TPTB... don't know. IMO if she continues to have to do that, it could put a plus in the Peter column. I don't think TOG is a bad guy or even a bad guy for Rachel; I just hope we're given the opp to understand more of their relationship as the season goes on because the editing isn't doing either of the F2 (or Rachel) any favors.

TL;DR -- this entire season is a battle of heart and mind. Team Rachel. Leaning Team Peter. The sleuthing is excellent. I'm very confused :

I also believe that Peters history with girls/therapy has made him move slower and I believe he thinks with his head a lot because of it. His comment that they have so much ground to cover is IMO an example of that. He doesnt want to kiss all the time because he wants to get to know each other to see if they are a match not just regarding passion. I believe he is scares of being caught up in passion and therefore move too fast. That is what I believe makes one think that he is holding back/not so interested.

I also belive that this time frame is too short for him to fall in love. I think thats the reason for him looking too happy for an F2 the days after filming..

This is exactly what happened. When this happens, long time members/sleuthers or new members who really want to learn how to sleuth, do not have the patience for that childish behaviour, and I don't blame them. Everyone can discuss how they feel and just because they are saying something that may not be popular with the overwhelming favourite doesn't mean anything other than they are simply posting their opinions. IMO they cannot understand that concept.

We will and are continuing to remove the posters who find it necessary to cause unnecessary drama that has nothing to do with sleuthing.

In general I think people get more riled up and passionate here about The Bachelorette though. Or maybe not, and I just still have PTSD from being a Ed/Jef fan (yeah... Peter vs. Bryan isn't even close....mind you even though it seems the season has been going on forever, we're really only about half way through, so I guess there is still time. Either way, I never get the OTT hate or OTT love. I don't get that worked up about my real life, let alone a stupid show.

I do remember some of the board "wars" here and on previous boards I visited.  I belonged to one private board years and years ago where the leader was a staunch fan of Chris Lambton.  Luckily I really liked him so I was "ok".  I now can see the merits of JP as a husband and father but he's still not my cup of tea.  I really do however have belated shame over my fandom of Ben F.  What a disappointment he turned out to be.  Ed was not for me either, but I still like Reid although I've gotten over the wish that he would be with Jillian.     I think this season has been weird for me with the preemptions and to be continued episodes and now a repeat on Monday.  I know they've done this before but for some reason this season it has thrown me off course.  I just want it to be over and get on with BIP,  Oh and I won't be disappointed if I have a chance to see what Peter would be like as TB.

You may be right. Then IMHO, no way in should he be the next Bachelor.

IMO the only way he makes it is if Adam Jr rejects the offer.
