Nick Viall & Vanessa Grimaldi - Bachelor 21 - Discussion

The scrutiny and the questioning is par for the course. All these couples deal with that. They just need to keep their head down, and keep on keeping on. Soon Rachel and whomever will take away some of that scrutiny, and if they make it to next year, Bachelor 22&his F1 should take most, if not all of that pressure off.

IIRC the tabloid crap peaked within a month for JoJo and Jordan. After that it got better and better, and after 3-4 month the positive articles were outweighing the negative. Today I don’t think it is a problem at all for them.

IMO you can only claim that a relationship is about to fail for so long. If it doesn’t happen you have to find a new story to tell.
Nick understands this better than anyone I would guess.

@Cocoasneeze Yes I was thinking the same thing, something about that account that posted false info before but I can't recall.

This is the interview that was posted the same day or next day and the only Montreal interview she did on that day that we know of. It was very positive and the hosts gave her a lot of credit.

I have just listened to the Montreal Interview. there has been no mention of her saying she is staying in LA for now...I think Montreal Gazette has picked up the info from her ATFR interview when she has mentioned the same statements, but Vanessa has clarified her statements since then...

Even though there was "trouble in paradise" after Emily's season, they were run ragged by the tabloids. Whether the info ultimately was true or not is immaterial. Tabloids will print trash to sell their mag.

I can't say that I know what he thinks or feels, but considering how "awful" similar I am to Nick in many personality traits I can only give my own POV, if it helps with the perspective.

I'm very open, honest person ... like the way I often talk about my life, even here on this forum, I have no problem mentioning the hard parts, darker days, discuss the shortcomings and failures, insecurities and my relationships with my friends and family ... but when it comes to love, I only speak about "the issue" with my closest friends/family members (that even my own parents aren't included in that circle) - chosen individuals. I usually don't talk about it at all when things are good and when things are debatable and I have questions or doubts I only confide to those few, but only to get another perspective to then decide on my own. When it comes to "romantic relationship" ... that's only "my territory" to think/judge about and noone else's.
I'm similar also in the areas such as my work (hate being asked about it, job is different), music and art endeavors ... basically my passions ... I don't like having to give an account of what I did/do and neither do I like others sticking their noses into my "business" when it comes to my personal relationships. I confide a lot, but only as much as I know I can handle in case it's turned against me. So in another words, what's precious to me, stays closer to heart.

I just think what some say is nick not being happy in the relationship is explainable in three words..... Nick.is.tired.   As in physically. And stressed about dwts. Vanessa sleeps more, apparently, and is more extroverted by nature....also doesn't have the dance routine pressures on her.

Also I think any 36year old who's lived on his own for a long while is gonna have a big adjustment living with someone else. Would happen with any partner, no matter how well or badly suited. All jmo. ( and I speak as someone who got married at 35)

Exactly my impression too. IMO Nick doesn't seem bored but tired and exhausted because of DWTS.

I do agree that he might be exhausted....He seems cranky like he needs to get away from everyone including Vanessa and like he's very drained and annoyed ...
In my honest opinion...I really don't think that gives him any excuse for his interaction with vanessa in that interview.

I don't see him tired or unhappy, or disengaged and irritated. I don't see a problem in his behavior, because IMO that's a typical Nick in his ordinary, mundane life. His "energy" level only differs IMO in "special circumstances" when things are out of his control, when he "walks" in the unknown or unpredictable territory. I guess I see no need for the excuses, because there's nothing in my book he needs to be excused about.

^Agreed. I don't think Nick needs any excuses since he hasn't done anything wrong IMO.

@skates from the way you have worded your post I get the impression that you are friends w/ Nick or have a close association on some level. I can totally see how what I have bolded above could be true and completely understandable on a day to day level. IMO, it would s*ck. But also MO, if anyone should have known how things work on this show, what TPTB can do, and how it can negatively affect a person in real life, real time it is Nick. Why would he have expected things to be handled any differently this time around? IMO, he is not a special snowflake. IMO, he was "produced" into his role, skillfully by professionals. It can be an ugly business and I find it incomprehensible that he wouldn't have known that when he signed his contract to be TB.

Seasoned viewers of this show, many who post here, know that when it comes to TPTB and this game, you can never win, they always find a way to control the narrative. IMO, a lead can't just say filming is over, I am walking away now. They have certain contractual obligations to fulfill for some time. And, IMO, if you p*ss off those in power, they can turn you into Bojangles (he jumped so high). Or picture a guy in an old western dancing around trying to evade the bullets flying furiously under his feet. An uncomfortable place to be for sure. I am not a fan of Nick, as I have previously stated, but I do empathize with feeling powerless and manipulated. But IMO it seems hypocritical to willingly sell your persona, image, self determination, and sometimes even your dignity and then be miserable about it all when the inevitable happens.
