Oh yay! Nick and Vanessa discussion thread. Why do I think this one is gonna be active? They are both polarizing separately. Together?? Yikes! Polarizing city! laugh out loud

I loved them on the show. I hope they make it, but my hopes are not super high.

IMHO she's extremely high maintenance and it will be a LOT of hard work for Nick. Sounds like he's up for the challenge so all the luck to them.

V is an idealist. But she is not an optimistic/glass is half full idealist. Instead, she is dissatisfied/glass is half empty idealist. She is going to have to modify her ideals somewhat in order to compromise for the good of this relationship. Same thing with Nick. He is going to need to modify his ideals somewhat, too. If they can do that, they have a chance. If not, well, they will go the route of 50% of the couples in society. JMHO.

Vanessa said a few things last night that would have given me pause if I was Nick mother or sister. Sure she may have been kidding but I thought there was little digs.
1. Her telling JK that he probably knew Nick better than her
2. Her saying they were doing DWTS together and it was not like he had already done that show 4x
3. Her talking about how she can be difficult with Chis Harrison. Sure it is nice for her to recognize her challenges but it seems so early in relationship to even be going there.

I watched bits of pieces of his season, but I agree that Vanessa cracks the whip in that relationship! She seems like you do not want to cross her! Btw, why have they been fighting?

IDK, I've found their answers realistic and refreshing. I'm all for anything that dismantles the overly orchestrated nature of reality TV, and serves us something more authentic. Different strokes!

Nick mentioned in GMA that the fights (I don't recall it being referred to as that though) haven't been specific to anything. More a combination of the the show re-airing and the distance. Now that that's behind them and distance won't be an issue (at least for the foreseaable future), it remains to be seen if they can move forward with their relationship.

I bet their fights have been because Nick was more empathetic of Raven since he was in that same exact position twice rather than considering Vanessa's precious feelings. Both of them mentioned this and so did Chris Harrison.

I totally think Nick NEEDS someone that will crack the whip and keep him in check though.

Also, what the hell. I'm disappointed it seems he's refusing to consider living in Canada. I dislike that the women on this show like 99% of the time, whether the lead or the F1 always seem to be the ones to do the heavy lifting/compromising/moving.

I agree with your assessment here...imo I doubt Vanessa can stand that he was giving someone else attention or having feelings for that person even if its empathy

I just watched their interviews and maybe Nick is tired from all the rehearsals for DWTS plus he said working on Internet business.

I just don't see a twinkle in his eyes.

It also crossed my mind maybe they and ABC are being so realistic in not "sugar coating" relationship, mentioing of fights and baby steps toward marriage planning because they want to get people to tune into DWTS to get glimpses of their progress as a couple. Or shoot, setting themselves up for reality show of them.

I am sure by the time DWTS is over we will have our answer about how enduring their relationship is.
