Nick Viall & Vanessa Grimaldi - Bachelor 21 - Discussion

IMO, Nick got out of the Bachelor what he intended to get...

A woman he loves. He no longer needs TPTB so why would he continue to advertise his relationship with Vanessa for them?

He has always seemed like an introvert with the skill of being able to act extroverted when the situation required it. I think that he is just going back to his regular life with the woman he loves by his side.

@cila51290, I agree with you about Rachel. He had a role to play in promoting the next season and he did it. I'm sure he likes Rachel, but even if he didn't he would have spoken kind words because he was being paid to do so.

I was surprised by Nick's admission that his relationship with Rachel had been explosives...to describe it that way I thought was over the top since I didn't see them to be hot and heavy, other than talking buddies...

If videos had not been scoped out of N and V with Ben/Lauren or Kyle, I can only imagine the opinions here regarding how miserable they are. I am surprised they are getting out mingling as much as they are. Practice schedules are brutal from what I've read. It's apparent N absolutely wants to involve V in his real life.

IMO, the further Nick's bachelor journey with the reminder of other women for V  falls in the rear view mirror, the more V will feel like it really is about her and N. I think her family is great but if they hadn't seen TB either, I can only imagine their wide eyes during scenes. More than likely it was a tough pill to swallow for all of them. I have a feeling that 3 months of Nick carrying the load explaining to that entire family was NOT easy. I can easily see why N and V wanted them there during finale. A different perspective with your own eyes can go a long way. The dinner following the ATFR is the first dinner since HTD months ago, IMO. Let that sink in. Thumbs up from Nick with the huge smile is better than any caption could ever be, IMO.

That's how I interpret what's happening. I think they know what they have and feel protective over it and I don't blame them. For weeks now, practically everyone (viewers, recappers, podcasters, even people who know Nick) have been saying that he'll pick Vanessa put they won't last. I know how I'd feel if people were saying my relationship was doomed before it even started really. I'd be like, if that's how you feel then you don't deserve to be a part of it anyway. No way would I be going out of my way to try and prove my feelings to anyone. What's the point? If a relationship is reliant on external validation, then it must not be very strong in the first place. I'm speaking from experience here, because when I started seeing my SO, instead of gushing about it, I actually kept it secret from a lot of people for months. It's not because I wasn't happy, quite the opposite, I was so happy I didn't want to invite anyone else into it, since I was worried I would be put in the position of having to defend or justify my relationship. Not because of anything seedy, there were just challenges because of distance and whatnot that I had no answers for either at that point. I just wanted to enjoy what we have without listening to other people's input, since it didn't matter, even if positive. Nick and Vanessa obviously can't just disappear because he's on DWTS, but they can limit what they put out there for people to dissect. Might as well enjoy this short period of calm before DWTS starts airing and they'll be up for criticism again. JMO.

They crave normalcy so bad they're on dwts and living in LA  Peronsally can't imagine them claiming anything sillier but that's how Nick operates IMO: nothing but manipulation tactics. I'm sure s/he/they will pop on sm soon enough asking for votes to continue the path down normalcy. All IMO.

As he should if he is to continue getting rewards for his hard work on DWTS. If dancing to those routines are considered easy, one has alot more natural talent than I do. Makes total sense to me. I'll add if Nick had turned down DWTS, it wouldn't have been silly, but down right STUPID and that he ain't! I think Nick's intelligence bugs the hell out of people.

Depends on how you look at it. We have Jake P that accepted DWTS gig, and look what happened to him. Heck even Vienna was so supportive. We have Sean, who received the same criticism and he appears quite happy with his family. Then we have K who craves the attention of TPTB more than anyone I've seen, worse than Jake P IMO and they appear quite happy. She apparently had that contract right after her season, so she must have been confident in her relationship.

The moral of the story, IMO take what you can whenever you can, especially DWTS. What a great experience, because you never know what the outcome of your relationship will be, and that goes for anyone. If you don't have someone that supports you 110% like I'm sure Shawn would for K, and obviously Vanessa so far has been for Nick, then you're probably doomed anyway which has nothing to do with DWTS IMHO.

DWTS is his current 'job'. He works hard and gets paid. Why not promote it? That's part of their normalcy for now.
I don't want fame but if they asked me to do DWTS I would say yes in a heartbeat!

I don't want to be famous in the least yet I still find the idea of DWTS really appealing because I love to dance and I could use a massive paycheck for doing what I most enjoy. Too bad about the live TV aspect of it . But Nick's already "famous" and probably isn't scared of cameras and audiences at this point, so it's a no-brainer IMO, no matter what he plans to do after it.

I will be honest and the first one to say I will have a hard time saying no to all the perks this franchise brings. Free stuff, free vacation, celebrities fan over me, VIP treatments in major events... and I really don't want to be famous!
Sometimes I wonder if Nick will pinch himself: theee years ago, he was this regular salesman from the Midwest and now he's known by millions. Love or hate him, people talk about him. How crazy is that!
I admire the very few who walk away from the spotlight, but I think I can understand why majority want to stay relevant. I am glad Nick decides to appear on multiple shows because he's very entertaining! IMO.
