oh gosh no Luke for Rachel. He dated Tammy Lauren. No thanks imo!
He seems to be fame obsessed.
In terms of Rachel being direct, I don't think that's an issue (I guess that's because that's how I am in real life). Better than being fake and talking behind someone's back imo.

I think you mean Tomi Lahren, and that was Chase, unless Luke got in on the action too. As far as who she is, well... we don't discuss politics here on the board.
Tammy Lauren is a 48 year old actor and by the looks of her wiki page, if its current and accurate, she's married. Now that might be a scandal and bring him some attention, if you indeed meant her and its true.

IMO Directness has got nothing to do with being fake or talking behind other people's back. It's got everything to do with measuring your words before speaking so as to get your point across without offending other people or coming across like you think you are smarter/better than them IMO. It's a lesson I have personally learned the hard way being in a male-dominated tech industry where I am the only woman in a team of 8.
Rachel is soon going to encounter 25 men. IMO She is walking a thin line between 'knowing her self worth' and 'projecting that she is better' atleast in interviews. Time will tell which one it ends up being IMO.
All JMO.

Rachel's directness and confidence only makes me think TPTB will make sure to have a Bentley and Brooks around that she falls for fast & then he breaks her heart by leaving. They like to use what you think are your good qualities and twist it to make you go crazy.

ITA [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. To me she's been coming across full of herself since Ellen interview with "his loss" and IG live story and even her saying on WTA in response to that the men are lucky when she says "They are" I just rolled my eyes. She seems so full of herself to me and like she thinks she's all that (and does the giggle thing to try make it "cute" which I find disingenuous).GuardianAngel wrote:I don’t get caught up in everything that’s around me. I’m just very direct, and I think that’s another thing with the intimidation thing. Some people can’t handle that I’m direct.
Reading that, I'm wondering what her reaction is when someone is direct with her? Did she really not get caught up in everything around her? Obviously she did with Vanessa.
Sorry, I'm just not crazy about her approach and her wording in general. A career driven woman not being able to find love as if she's the only one? IMO There are plenty of women that haven't met their HEA and they aren't all lawyers. They could be working for minimum wage 12 hours a day or have two jobs to make ends meet working 15 hours a day. They are driven to work and pay bills, not because it's their career taking orders in a drive through. IMO It's not all about fancy suits when it comes to meeting the right person. She's coming across IMO full of herself.

What stands out to me most is those things are post-show so more of who Rachel is IMO and overall her comments post-show have shown me Rachel is someone who doesn't have true confidence when they have to toot their own horn and refer to others as "lucky" for them she is their bachelorette. Who even says that? Rather be humble and say "thank you" than be all like "they are" and acting above everyone else and and like everyone else is beneath her, imo.
I like people that are real and being real but that to me includes being realistic and knowing you're not all that and having some humility and being able to say you're not all that and be humble and not down other people as she has IMO with "his loss" and "they are" lucky comments. To me the lucky one is Rachel for getting the gig in the first place.
So far I am not impressed with her and I had high hopes. Disappointing to say the least.

bleuberry wrote:I can see why it would sound that way based on transcripts of her interviews. And there were a few others where I could see it too. But when I see her in video and video interviews, I don't get that vibe from her at all (re: being a better Bette because she's a lawyer).
I also don't get that vibe so far anyways, I am wondering if maybe if it is also her banter/humor not landing well?

Love Rachel on last night's Bachelor 3 hour event. Holy moly, I was crying even though I knew she was leaving. I really enjoyed her relationship with Nick.
She is a keeper for sure with a good, kind heart. I loved seeing the girls circle around her. That was authentic per Christen on Afterbuzz last night.
Regarding her directness, i have a lot of lawyers in my life and they can take getting used to, especially when they transition into litigation mode. Keeps you on your toes.

I don't know if this is the case with Rachel, but many 'real' and 'direct' people can't handle other people being the same way with them. It'll be interesting to see, if this is the case with Rachel.

Real and direct to me means you dont talk from the side of your mouth or play mind games. I find people like that easy to deal or relate with. Real is not about been brash or rude or high handed in my books. Alexis said Rachel is easy to along with and I suppose it is because she is "real and direct" and this is evident in the number of the girls who got along with her. jmo

IA with this. If we are to take real and direct as in not talking out of both sides of your mouth, then she is complimenting herself that the guys are lucky she is the 'ette and that it is in fact Nick's loss that he didn't choose her.
What will she say to a contestant if he says "you're lucky I'm here". If she lets someone go and he says "it's your loss" laughing all the way to the limo?
I'm sure they both would be considered jerks IMHO.

A favorite saying of my mother has been, its not what you say but what you do that will show the true colors of who you are...... In mho Rachel's actions do not show me that she is kind/compassionate or forgiving to everyone based upon the cold shoulder she appeared to give Vanessa in the last rose ceremonies. So with that, and based upon how well she appears to be liked by the girls from this season, it seems that she can be very kind and compassionate to those she feels are deserving or that doesn't push back on her....but we are all works in progress and being refined each and every day. Yes. It's not that I have a problem with people being direct and keeping it real, but I feel that the more you keep saying it, the more it starts sounding like an excuse. You can be honest and still mindful of your words and actions. I mean, unless you're a toddler, I'm expecting you to manage your behaviour to a reasonable extent. I can't help remembering what CH said in his 5 to watch about her:
sourceShe is an incredibly smart, very strong-willed professional woman. She knows how to command a courtroom and therefore a room in general, so she can kind of impose her will on everybody. That is not a recipe for having an easy go in the house with the women, but it does help when trying to make sure you get noticed by the bachelor and get your time with him.
The bolded makes me think that the "leader of the pack" impression has some truth to it.
Anyway, I do think she's a great catch and has every right to feel that way, but I do also think some humility would be a better look. I mean, we know you're a catch already, there's no need to keep driving home the point yourself. If you feel like you're single because men are intimidated by you, then starting off with "I'm great and you're lucky to meet me" probably doesn't help. Just saying.
