Ben Higgins - Lauren Bushnell - Bachelor 20 - Discussion - #6

I'm not a public person in any way but I'd much rather have a guy who walks the walk in our lives than posts something gushy & romantic on SM. I never got why people are supposed to say romantic things to or about their loved one on their SM page. That's not for them, it's for their followers imo.

Agreed, luckily in this case Ben does neither IMO  so we're probably closer to being aligned than it seems.

IMO, I don't think anyone has said that social media is absolutely everything or that it's more important to express love and romance on social media than in real life, however, it's just another piece of the puzzle.

Many of us were able to tell there were issues going on with them through their social media, which Lauren herself has now kind of confirmed, as well as magazine outlets. I personally have seen changes in their social media in regards to each other, and these Valentine's Day posts just continue to pile on with the other stuff. I'm all for sweet gestures in real life, but as a 25 year old, I enjoy sweet public stuff as well once in a while. I do hope they figure it out and do what's best for them. JMO

IMO my HUGE problem with Ben has been his public spectacles he's done, IMO partly to win public praise. IMO his OTT double proposals, double ily, gushy IG postings were a lot to do with his need for praise. IMO he's been all about the lip service, not acting on it in private. I'm hoping, that he's realised this, and is pulling back by purpose.

I'm hoping they've had real live talks about what each one wants from their relationship, honest, real talk, not reality show talk. I'm thinking they're now working on that.

It seems like they're spending more time together, maybe the time apart did them good, and they realised, that they don't want to break up, and want to be together. IMO.

I tend to think they would rather fake it and stay together...for now... than deal with the backlash of the breakup.  Jmho.    Until then, I will look forward to Ben's next post to Lauren.  "It's Easter!  Happy Easter, Lauren!"

I totally agree.  My husband and I aren't even friends on facebook or twitter or any SM app.  

But when you gush in the beginning on SM and now the posting is just a nicety, or barely anything.  It is noticeable.

A lesson is if you really want to be a successful couple.  Do not post on Social Media until you have been together a year.

This goes for any couple, famous or not. IMO

The only time I see SM being a positive with any of these cast/couples is if it improves their salability. That's why I was wondering if they have private pages for their real "friends".

What is fake about Lauren Bushnell?
Her vocal fry almost says it all.
Also, "I'm such a prize and I'm so picky, so you gotta chase me" but then, soooo ready to move to Denver and got married.
Don't forget, "I like simple things in life, yet, I'm high maintenance and want my single party girl life to go on."

I'm not a fan of Ben, and I don't think/see anyone here is blaming Lauren Bushnell for this IMO falling relationship. All along I see how Ben may have mistakenly think Lauren B is that sweet girl he always wanted, he CHASED her all season. But when reality set in, boom, she is not what he thought to be.

Sorry to have double post, but I always have a question.
Why Lauren is highly praised for her effort in this relationship? I mean, what effort she actually made that are so big?

The moving? I thought she was a FA before so she flies frequently and is used to stay in different places.

IMO, it always takes two for a relationship to work. I think she has her fair share of it can't work out.

Personally speaking having done both: If you like the place you live and you like your job and stop both for something you think will be a better situation--you are giving that up with hopes for your future. JMOAA

Kasha, but I think she didn't give up her job for Ben/their future!! She didn't go back to work because IMO, she thinks she's famous, that fans would go to her and disturb her duties.

So, for this one, I personally definitely would not credit as her effort for the relationship. Even if she's not the F1, she would probably quit her job too, imo.

She could not go back to being a flight attendant in those teeny weenie aisles being interrupted every other minute to get a selfie or autograph while harried, tired passengers who only want to store their carry-ons and get to their seats are trying to get by. She would never get the drink cart down the aisle for the interruptions.
IMO the whole thing of flying is to get where you need to go safely and efficiently. I like to be able to nap or sleep. I don't consider myself a nasty person, but I would have no patience with this. God forbid there is an emergency. I don't want my go to person being distracted by a "fan".
If she had been eliminated prior to the F4--maybe even F6, I think she could go back to being a flight attendant.
Under the circumstances, I don't think she can do the job without causing inconvenience and safety issues to those she worked with and those she served.
