I'm really not wanting to perpetuate this discussion as it seems unresolvable, but my instincts say it could have originated from the "competitive" VB date. That date ended very disjointed to the unspoiled viewer, imo.

RS indicated that for the St Thomas GD the reason the girls were upset was that whoever won the volleyball game would get to go to the after party losing team would go home. Vanessa's team lost - which lead to why Vanessa/Danielle were crying. Apparently Nick changed the rules so that the other team could come... which per RS was because Vanessa was on the losing team. I do suspect all this to be true as it makes a lot more sense why they were upset. Then I also speculate that Rachel was upset as a result of this which is why she said she didn't feel like she was one of the top girls as Nick wanted Vanessa there (i.e. if Rachel was F1 - why need Vanessa there). I also suspect that Nick may have consoled Vanessa - which would be why Rachel indicated "I was there" as in I saw you console her. This part is speculation on my part.

Then the fight the following week with Vanessa and Rachel, which no one seems to have specifics of. According to RS there was a fight and the girls sided with Rachel. Which is why it is speculated Vanessa was no where to be seen after her date.

Also Vanessa/Danielle were seen in the season promo crying together and when Vanessa says "I am so tired of his stupid decisions" - which was sleuthed to be Bimini when Danielle M was eliminated (based on the hotel room and Danielle's attire being the same as when she left) - which they also left out - which again doesn't make sense to me. Just made it look like Vanessa was no where to be seen when her best friend left - even thought they had something in the promo.

This season has been a hack job and I give all that credit to the editors. Based on RS sources Nick knew early that he was choosing Vanessa. There were also photos released during the season of Nick with Raven, Rachel and Vanessa on dates. A lot of people on this forum thought just based on those photos that Nick would end up choosing Vanessa. She also ended up being one of the last girls actually identified even though we had a picture of her and her first name. I believe that Nick was overly transparent this season in who he liked and the editors tried to cover it up with the Corrine show and the rest of the edit hack job.
