Ben Higgins - Lauren Bushnell - Bachelor 20 - Discussion - #4

I'm not a fan of Ben and or Lauren. I used to be a fan of Ben on Kaitlyn's season but then on his season, not so much. To me. the HEA show just concretized my initial thoughts on their relationship and personality. Ben and Lauren IMO are just trying to keep up with the Joneses. I did not see them build a solid foundation on the show which would result in long lasting love, IMO. They never spent that time to get to know the real person, IMO. I see Ben as puppy or putty in Lauren's eyes. It just seems that Ben can never live up to her standards. She comes across as very self-righteous IMO. Ben having to ask her if he said the right thing on JoJo's AFR etc. shows a guy who is very insecure about himself and his relationship. There are other instances as well. But I don't think Lauren can give Ben the kind of love he thinks he needs - a woman who would worship the ground he walks on. Not that I think that that kind of love is the real deal, but it's what he wants and he doesn't seem to be budging anytime soon. I don't even see a genuine friendship between these two.I hope for their sakes I am wrong but there's something very off about these two and to me, last night it was very evident.

I don't think he'd do well with a woman like that either, even though I agree that's exactly what he wants too, she would require so much effort and giving and he's not into that either. Maybe a nice tarantula would be a good start for Perfect Ben.

Girl, zip it Don't jinx it! Don't try to push that torture on us again! Or on Ben and Lauren for that matter. That show seemed to be painful for almost all of us IMO.

@Lennoxcolinrolland. Wasn't for me.... Totally skipped it.  You even told me not to bother watching!

I did enjoy some of the recaps, those at least were funny and entertaining, IMO.

I know! I only kept watching, because I felt I needed to "finish what I started.." Never again!

IMO Lauren has way more patience and love toward Ben than the other way around. IMO Lauren has loads of longtime close friends and family who attest to her kindness and loyalty. I give major props to Lauren to working through the public blindsides that Ben has thrown at her and still trying to make their relationship work.
IMO whether their relationship is going to end up in marriage is a big question mark as of now?? I am 50/50 at this point.

Yeah seabear you see Ben for what he is.  Despite my criticisms of her career choices I have a lot more time for Lauren than Ben. It's his total manchild( as you say)  tendencies which shone out of that HEA season & showed him up for the immature soul he is. I still can't believe how different he comes across compared to TB - partly I expect due to the spin and the way it was promoted that he was the ideal man on TB!!!  JoJo may have had a lucky escape after all.

I don't think he came across very well on TB either. The way he acted while sending Jubilee home, chastising her for not holding his hand and for making him feel insecure or whatever, how defensive he got when JoJo's brothers totally rightfully questioned his feelings for her after his wishy-washy non-answers, the double ILY nonsense and his utter inability to look at it from the women's point of view or apologize... I could go on. He's just very wrapped up in himself. I think he does love Lauren, but it's not the selfless kind of love, at least not at the moment. She's already changed her life totally for him while he's done what? Let this hot woman move into his bachelor pad and decorate it? He didn't seem thrilled about that either. I think he really does need a girlfriend rather than a fiancée, let alone a wife. I wish he'd been more honest about that instead of just going along with the Bachelor format even in private. JMO.

I don't know but I watched last night their segment. Why does he always feel like he is not happy on what Lauren is saying about what is next with them? Last night I can't help but to crack on his reaction after lauren said she wants to have a dog.I wish Ben just stop doing that , he needs to think not everything is all about him, that not all the decision should always come from him .Poor Lauren sacrificed a lot with this man .jmo.

Did anyone watch Amanda's IG live? She's with the Twins and Ben and Lauren at the Nick premiere event. All the girls were gathered around laughing while Ben was just in the background looking bored and miserable. He seems over this whole thing. I do think he loves Lauren but he seems unhappy IMO.

I'd be unhappy to if I had to spend time around Amanda and the twins.  So I don't fault him there.

I didn't see it but I hope he's not there and acting miserable just to act miserable. He could have stayed home if he didn't want to watch endless ducky faces with the doggy ears filter all night. He knew what he'd be seeing if he went.
