I think there has to be a televised wedding. Otherwise this is more of a time waster than it actually is already IMO.
Big: You know, Manhattan has a lot of beautiful women.
Carrie: What an amazing observation!
Big: But the thing is, after awhile, you just wanna be with the one who makes you laugh.

I agree.
Hypothetically, the storyboard for this series should have been a lead in for the real final episode--the wedding. (unless they do another series--the planning/wedding and then another series life ever after. I hope not)
If the arrangement was initially to have a winter wedding, a date could be set with a lot of planning done very quietly that no one even knows about outside of the couple, family and wedding planner. All of these things could be done and a wedding could take place this winter.
However, if the series ends and nothing has been promoted from the series, I doubt a winter wedding will take place 2016/2017.

I can believe Ben when he says he wants to make sure they're ready, that they truly know each other, etc. That's the right thing to do IMO. It will be interesting to see what happens in a couple of weeks because I'm sure that at the very least IMO, he'll just reiterate on the show that he loves Lauren and wants to marry her and she feels the same. They can absolutely say that the wedding is on at the end and then not give an actual date. I wouldn't see that as a waste of time because regardless, the show hasn't gotten the greatest of ratings. The show is what it is. Ben and Lauren got the paycheck and production had another show on the air.
The date is what I'm really looking for in the next 2-3 weeks. Without an official announce or a date in that time span I don't see it happening given the time frame. JMO

I could also see them (ABC/Freeform) announcing a wedding without giving a date ie coming to ABC this winter etc. Unless the wedding will be live they will keep the date under wraps right?

Re: Ben and Lauren Happily Ever After - Discussion - *Sleuthing - Spoilers*
Sean and Catherine had a live wedding and correct me if I'm wrong, there was an accouncement about it made in October and they were married towards the end of January. That's four months between the announcement and the actual wedding.
Jade and Tanner were married on January 24th and the wedding aired on ABC on February 14th. They announced they were having a wedding in the beginning of January, although they were hinting at it before the official annoucement and I believe RS reported they were getting married on tv before the official announcement came.
Two different circumstances, but I still think if it's happening this winter it would need to be February. JMO

But @Ash2214, are you talking about a real wedding or a scripted one? Big difference between the two when it comes to this couple. IMO.

I think they could have a winter wedding with all the planning the way they and their families want it, to fall in line with the script--if that is what they want IRL.
That's the real issue--are they ready IRL.
To me, IMO, there can be a huge difference between a wedding the network throws together vs one where the couple and family choose to have a lot of input. What's important and non-negotiable to one couple may not be for another. It depends on the couple and what is being offered.

Either way, I can appreciate Ben's seemingly honest answer when he said he wasn't ready. I can't imagine being ready to marry someone I dated on a reality television show from September through November, was in hiding and could barely see that person from December through march, was pushed out into the public from April through June and then filmed a second reality television show all summer long. No thank you. Ben is being smart. JMO
It will be an interesting few weeks.

"challenges are what makes life interesting, overcoming them is what makes life meaningful.real love is when you are completely committed to someone even when they are being completely unlovable.a strong marriage requires two people who chose to love each other even on those days when they struggle to like each other.a great marriage doesn't happen when the perfect couple gets together. It happens when an imperfect couple gets together and learn to enjoy each other's differences."

Re: Ben and Lauren Happily Ever After - Discussion - *Sleuthing - Spoilers*
I'm trying to sympathize with Ben but IMO Lauren has done a lot of changing and shifting her life around to make things work. Literally everything that's important to Ben she has taken on. Quit. Moved to Oregon and into his modest house. Renovated and made it a home. Charity trips. Sports. You name it, she's down for it. I'm not saying he needs to rush the wedding to please her, but learn to communicate effectively and stop being such a baby.

I agree that it's smart to take some time and get to know each other before the wedding, but it is a bit shitty that after the finale he was telling people how he'd marry her tomorrow and then agreed to take the TV wedding offer. So it is a bit of a blindside. I haven't watched yet though, so I don't know how genuine all this is or if it's just part of the script, since you never know with this show. I do believe he loves her, but is he really 100% sure he wants to be with her forever? I couldn't help wondering that if I was Lauren, since if that's the case, getting to know one another better could as well be done after the free wedding. The only reason to insist on it before the wedding is if you think it might change something. Or maybe he just wants to feel completely at peace about the whole thing on his wedding day, which I get, but seeing how Ben is, he probably never will.
