Bachelor 21 - Nick Viall - General Discussion - *Sleuthing Spoilers* #3

Can someone please fill me in on Nick? I don't know much about him. What type of person is he? I realize that is a "loaded" question! He seems quiet and a bit shy? Am I totally off base here?

@Mommyof2 Where does one even start? LOL. I feel like a lot of people here can tell you about his various appearances on the show better than I can since I've kind of been on and off the show for the last several years. Needless to say, I have been trying to "figure him out"

I've been trying to MBTI type him the last few weeks. I know it's considered pseudo-science but it's fascinating to me, and at least it makes more sense than astrology. Anyway, I think Nick might be INTJ (I'm more convinced about the I and J than I am of the two middle letters, tbh). He is not nice, wholly manipulative, and everything and one are a means to an end for him. IMO.

Yes where to begin...!! There are lots of opinions of him, good and bad. I personally don't care for him for reasons.

He appears unassuming but is in fact calculating imo. Milsy said he kept asking to be The Bachelor yet ge pretended it came to him out of the blue. I dont not like him if that makes any sense. He os just one of those I neither care much or less about.

I agree. I think Nick is an INTJ as well. I believe a lot of the reasons why people dislike him come back to his personality traits. And it makes sense. INTJs are confident, self-assured people who have almost a sixth sense and strong opinion about nearly every situation they have thought about. They usually don't have appreciation for small talk and societal rules with strangers but rather value meaningful and deep interactions with those they deem worth putting time into. I can see easily why Nick might rub people the wrong way. Especially in a situation like the Bachelorette.

However, they are also very loyal and offer excellent insight with regards to personal relationships. But only to those who are lucky enough to be deemed in their inner circle. Also why Nick makes a great guy friend to many of the younger women in Bachelor world.

While he's not your typical alpha male I've never thought Nick was shy. I'm personally always wishy washy with how I feel about him. On one hand hand he's done some super questionable things IMO that have really rubbed me the wrong way.

On the other hand I like how self assured he is, he has a quiet confidence that I think makes other men feel threatened. I also like his taste in women, in the sense that he's not looking for someone meek, he doesn't want someone he can steamroll even though he also has a strong personality, he's genuinely attracted to strong outgoing women, that takes a certain type of man and I like that.

Calculating is the perfect word for it. I hope Vanessa isn't deluded into thinking she's anything but a useful tool for him to campaign for dwts next or whatever. All IMO.

I listened to that recap, I was shocked that Robert Mills will say that to viewers because it made Nick seem desperate and kinda validate RS with some of the things he has been saying about Nick imo

Millsy is just ... perfection of a producer ... he was the first one to name Nick the "creep" in the 1st season ... then calling him "his brother" the season later ... so now it's back to whatever sells best.
