IDK. If I could come up with this idea, I know others did. That alone tells me it's not so farfetched or that big of a twist. It's pretty logical. IMO otherwise why show the whole tabloid thing episodes ago.

It might explain her hyperventilating when Chad possibly appears at the FRC. How ridiculous though.

It's not something fans/viewers who don't follow the spoilers would expect. That's what makes it a big twist. Something that has never been done in franchise history JMO

Who is supposed to come back, Chad the ex or Chad the wacko?  In any case, I don't want to see either of them on my tv screen.

So I played with photoshop and came to this with your top pic. I do see a seam but somehow it is blurred. But I added some arrows to show you the faint line. It is also possible that the HD quality of the episode do change the details. For example in one episode I could not see jordan's dark hairs on his hand and on another one I did.

I am also thinking about the lights that the crew do use Light kits like under so it is possible that the light is slightly different upon the angle they shoot it. IMO

Maybe it's Ben Higgens that comes back because Lauren and him didn't work out and he is still in love with JoJo -at least that is what that tabloid said in an off shoot of that article that her ex exposed in.  That would also be a twist that hasn't been done before and would fit in with the "what you did to me" comment.

Ummmm that would be something to see but... he was just at his engagement party and there is video of him dancing with his soon to be grandmother in law so.... I don't think it's that. They could prove me wrong though; it would be enough to actually shock me unlike every other option.
