Josh Murray - Bachelorette 10 - Discussion - #10

I don't think finding someone in real life is as easy as some make it sound, and especially not for Josh. He admits he gets very shy and has a tough time approaching women he finds attractive. He admits he's not good at dating. It seems he feels the TV shows get him out of his comfort zone and give him a push he needs. And he believes in the process.  He fell for a girl once (although not the right girl for him) so he believes he can find love again.  People will give him crap for doing more shows, oh well, he doesn't seem to care. Like he said, he's not really living his life if he's always worried about the negative things people are going to say about him.

And like nd4reality said above, he's hardly the only one doing it. Ashley I, Jared, Nick, SeanCat, Tenley, Michelle Money, and multiple others have been on 3 shows now. They all do it for the money, fun, friendships and some also in hopes to possibly find love. He's no different than the rest.

Finding someone is definitely not easy. I know many men and women in the late 20's and early 30's having a rough time.

His exact words were "Maybe you guys will see me on there." I'm not sure how he thinks we're going to see him on there when he's already said he wasn't allowed to do the show, and thus he didn't appear on the show, and thus we will not in fact be seeing him on the show. But then he's never been the quickest thinker ever.

But that's the thing, though -- I don't even find him hot anymore! His hair is terrible, and his perfectly manicured eyebrows, and I can't deal with the way he sticks his tongue between his teeth when he smiles. He's just... cheesy. A big plate of fromage.

Yep, only Josh is so bad for changing his mind and doing FS & BIP Everyone else it's ok to do multiple shows or beg to be on them. Like some past contestants, wanted to be the bachelor so bad, even had a trainer to get the gig, but got turned down, or they would have had multiple appearances (Arie is one I can think of).

Just read RS column, wowzer, he named some past contestants he has a lot of dirt on, but never named Josh, because Josh is not a player, or a womanizer, never has been and he hardly dates in real life. Not one woman has come out in the press or RS to talk bad about Josh, that speaks volumes to the type of man he is. He's no saint, he may speak before he thinks things through, but he's not a player DBag player like some former contestants.

We all have contestants we like and ones we don't, and that's ok. I'm sure they don't mind the hate as they deposit their $$$ in the bank for doing these shows. I would do multiple TV shows in a minute for the money if I was offered them, be a fool to turn it down for any reason, but that's just me.

@Gerorge Lindsay Perfect post I believe he is truly a pure gentleman and will find that true love he is looking for. I think it is hard for many to know if they met a person outside the show are they liking him for his time on reality shows or do they really like him for him. He is also gorgeous and a genuine person.

Yes, I don't judge people by being on these (scripted) shows, as much as their  post show behavior and what they do in their real lives, like charity events, how they treat others, and kindness in general.

If y'all only knew Josh, the person, not Josh the TV reality contestant, I believe some would change their minds. He's a good man, a genuine man, not a perfect man, but who is???

I know a lot of people on this board don't have a high opinion of Andi, but I'm not willing to dismiss what she said as being completely without merit. You can think you know someone and be totally and completely wrong. I've known people who have been great friends, great to the people around them, do charity work etc., but to date them is an absolute nightmare. People like that are VERY good at keeping that side concealed, to the point where other people would never believe their s/o's, would never dream this person is capable of terrible/manipulative things, and could truly never understand unless they were to date this person themselves.

I'm not saying Josh is one of those people, but he very well could be. We have no way of knowing.

Well, Josh dated a girl for 1 yr, 3 months, plus dated some others at UGA, but none have ever come forward to say he's what the lunatic bitch said in her fictional book about him. I'm sure if he was any of the things she said, some girl, somewhere would be happy to tell a mag ($$) or RS in the past 2 yrs since the show. JMO

He said he hates to break up and hurt anyone's feelings, probably the reason he stayed with the #toxicwhorebeast for 8 months of pure torture by her "mind games", remember she said that's her favorite thing to do.  

My main problem with her book is the language and the unclassy way she talks about sex with #25 & #26 and her overly excessive use of her favorite word f*ck, just trashy & low class to me. IMO

Again, not true, for a myriad of reasons. But especially when someone has a reputation for being a good and upstanding person, the idea that you won't be believed if you speak against them, is terrifying. And ultimately feels like it might not be worth it to say anything because of that. Especially someone in the public eye. Look at all the negativity Andi has gotten since speaking out.

Again, I'm not claiming to know anything either way, but I've personally experienced a situation very similar to what she described.  And I know for my situation, I wouldn't share my story for money because I'd be too scared of the repercussions - knowing they have as many supporters as they do means I'd be painted as the bad one for trying to defame such a "good, kind person". Like I said, you never know what it's like to date a person unless you've actually done so.

Sorry I know this is rambly and maybe slightly OT but TL;DR Josh seems a lot like my ex and that level of charm can hide so much that you'd never expect and it takes a lot of courage to share a story that paints someone like that with any sort of negativity.


And for what it's worth, I and most in my circles use f*ck in our everyday language so that doesn't phase me or strike me as being unclassy, unless it's in a work environment. *shrug*

@heather, Sorry you had an abusive relationship, but Josh is nothing like your ex. I wish you well and hope you were able to move on, good luck.

I never said I was abused. I never said Josh was abusive. What I DID say, multiple times, was that you never know what it's like to date someone unless you've done it yourself. Many people would say my ex is nothing like the person that he was, because behind closed doors, he was someone completely different. But now I know what to look for.

Again, I have no way of knowing for sure either way. I'll still be checking out FS if only out of curiosity.
