Bachelor New Zealand - Jordan Mauger - Season 2 - Episode Discussion - *Sleuthing* - *Spoilers*- #2

Hello guys

I might be in the minority here but i like Naz with Jordan and Jordan with Naz.
I wans't really into the season at the beginning because i've found the dates boring. I can see he has a thing for Fleur but I've never seen Storm or Rebecca as being it for him.
However with Naz, maybe it's because she is more expressive, but i find their times together more lively and it looks like two people getting to know each other.

With that said, I don't think Naz is all that bad. But since i don't think Jordan is after the good "blank" girls, i will just say i can see her be F1. It won't surprise me and i would even be on board.

Anyway, there are few episodes left and i'm yet to see a real connection screaming "Can work in real life" develop.

Until then, i will just sit there and enjoy the ride hoping Naz will stay to entertain even if she is not F1 .
Seriously if it wasn't for her the season would be beyond boring.

I don't watch the batchelor but was convinced otherwise by my daughter. I agree with Storm in this case. She has only had two dates with the guy, preparing her family for a meeting with him was inappropriate. He didn't spend enough time with her, finding out who she is. I value her beliefs. Audrey Holyoake This is a competition with a boobie prize! He's a mediocre actor in NZ....this is airtime for him....he's too self centred for a relationship.

Stefan Smith I don't think he's looking for a match. He's just playing on the side of the producer just watching the girls compete and scoring points

Patricia Hammond Sorry to see you go Storm. Thought you would be there till the end.

Roger Doran Sorry but he's a loser who would go for him?

just a note... Naz is constantly critized, trashed by some medias about her chest, about her personality, about pretty much everything.

She was also criticized and many girls at the mansion (late in the season) were just like pitt bull such kate.

you are not alone my friend. I see exactly the same and I know a couple on this forum too

Naz grew on me after claudia's departure. Before that, I was totally meh about the season.

I also found lovely both their single date and the butterflies moment in the fields.

I never saw Rebecca. Storm was never a F1 for me. Fleur was a strong possibility that I hardly see now after her b!tchy attitude at last ceremony. She looked very needy and over reacted to receive the last rose IMO. She only had one single date, few 1on1 after all.

However, Gabs and Erin are also women that grew on me.

I started to enjoy this season more since they changed Naz' edits. But I also see this connection, this friendship, this flirting and most of all I FINALLY see Jordan alive with somebody and not in the chair lurking and going with the flow.

I would like to replay the conversation at Naz and Jordan return at the RC with some s/caps.

Kate: you have been away for a while
(Erin is totally not conformable)



Jordan: Yeah, well, we've got a lot to talk about

So my understanding is that Kate started to complain that he did not give time equally. Fleur was very unhappy and started to be cocky. Jordan tried to see if she was joking. She was not. I see also an edit in the "she was not joking" which was not because Naz said "lets go", it was definitely when Fleur said "no, thanks" (finger pointed to Fleur's direction) and his last words: ok, lets be foolish together... this is Jordan who is very unhappy about Fleur's attitude.

I truly think that Fleur made a big deal after Kate and my take is that Fleur made a jealousy fight because jordan spent a lot of time with Naz.

What I found interesting is that they edited Naz as away from the fight and showed us that she tried to diffuse the tension, same with Gabs who also tried.

I still think Fleur is F1 but I cautiously think so. First I don't like Fleur's edit on the show, I particularly don't like that she swore at Naz at the last RC. IMO one should take the high road regardless of how others are acting around one since you can only control your behavior & not others. Also from next week's preview she was heard saying as a VO when Jordan was consoling Naz that it was the first time she had seen Jordan have a connection with someone else other than her. That tells me that she felt she's had it in the bag till that moment. Also on her FB page, she is doing a lot of image promotion, she even posted that she can't believe how much love & support she is getting all over the nation. So all this just leads me to her indicating she is Jordan's F1.

Then you have Naz....I have no idea what she is posting on IG but on Twitter, she seems to be re/tweeting support for her. After listening to the spinoff's fantasy suite podcast for this week, I have to agree that Jordan is quite relaxed around Naz & he should probably pick her because that's what would keep the public interested in him & promote his personal brand whatever that is.

I am still not discounting Gabs & Erin. I find it quite interesting that none of the girls are mentioning Erin as a contender...who knows what's going on. I noticed that Erin only started posting on IG 2 weeks ago after her first date. Anyone know if she was active prior to that?

Next week's episodes should be telling....all JMO.

I agree that I do not like Fleur's edits on the last 3 episodes. I did not see Jordan looking for her, we did not see any 1on1 outside of the zoo. The body language at the zoon was weird. The conversation was nice but the kisses? OMG

Lets remember that Fleur was also overweight and receiving many support can be overwhelming. She looks a bit desperate to keep attention on her facebook. Plus what works for one should work for everyone. I thought that too many SM meant that the woman was not F1.........

I was very impressed that at the RC, Naz did not say a bad word about the other girls. And she said that the girls gave her S*** when she had her first rose at her fist SD. This time she was very class act talking about the other woman IMO

which is not the case at all with kate at the garden segment in the middle of naz date and also the horoscope segment. I saw a mean girl with kate. Fleur and Storm were pushed to say they did not see any connection. Erin said she saw a connection and Gab  stayed neutral.

I also remember that last week Naz was attacked about her physical and it was truly bullying by a mag/radio woman... and BAM all of a sudden, Jordan comes out of his shell and say that it is really bad example for kids and people should be ashamed. My first thoughts was that he went out to defend his girl (Naz). She may be not F1 but that was my first reaction.

I've been silently reading this thread and thought I might just give my 2 cents on the show!!!
First I have to say I do agree with HEA on your analysis and I really enjoyed reading all your posts  

To start with, I really quite like Jordan. I think I would be attracted to him if I were to meet him (of course based on what I see from the show). I think he is really charming, has personnality, charisma ... I do really like him.
I think he is also quite attractive.
Now that we are approaching the end of the show I have to agree on the fact that he seems to have no strong romantic connection with any of the girls. I absolutely can't picture him proposing to someone at the end of the show ... and good on him.
Who actually proposes after just a few dates and a few drinks at cocktail parties?

Being said he has no perspective of a long term relationship with any of the girls, I think he tried to cope with the show the best way he could. Also pretty sure the prod is expecting him to provide some good content for the episodes so he has to deal with that.
If I were in this position, at this point I guess I would pick girls I know I would spend good time with.
So I think that's why he has been keeping around Shari for so long and he is still keeping Kate around. Obviously there is no physical attraction with any of them, especially Shari. Even though she seems to be a cool gal I think it's quite obvious he would never picture himself with her. At least I don't.
I think that's also why he is now spending quite a lot of time with Naz. At least she is a sexy girl he surely likes to be around, especially because she is very cuddly and he said he likes that.

Talking of the girls, my "favorite" girl for quite a while now has been Naz. Of course it's based on the edits but even though I really didn't like her "hit list" style at first, and I don't like the person she is around Claudia (never liked Claudia, she sounds like way too slow, shallow and air headed to me), I have to admit I quite like her now. She is never complaining, she is fun, spicy, smiley and sexy! I can't really picture her and Jordan actually dating but if he came to the conclusion that there is no relationship to get out of the show, maybe she is the best choice in the end for a hookup ...
I quite liked the connection he seemed to have at first with Storm, I think she is a great person (didn't like the wallabies comment though and the complains about massages ...), and I also think she made very clear there would be no parents visit and that's why he decided she had to leave. I think we really can't blame Storm for that. Of course she knew what the show was about and that the parents visit might happen at one point, but maybe she thought that at that time of the show she would feel a stronger connection with Jordan, strong enough at least to have the parents visit happen. So good on her for not having her parents go through an awkward moment ...

Still I was quite shocked while watching the show that Kate got called, leaving Storm and Fleur in the bottom 2. I had been sure for so long that they would both be frontrunners. For me it was really obvious. So yeah, this season is full of surprises.

Now speaking of Fleur, she had been the potential F1 since episode 3 or 4 maybe. I first really liked her, I didn't notice her at first because physically she looks quite "common" to me, but I thought she had the extra plus in terms of personality and past life (adventure life in South Africa) that would sound appealing to Jordan. But for the last couple of weeks, I started to quite dislike her. I now find her quite arrogant and two faced, being all smiley with the others, pretending to hope that everything went well on others' date when she actually wishes that all the other dates would not end up that well. How many times she gave others her 2 cents: "No, I don't really see a connection between them". She sounds super arrogant saying that I think. Plus the way she always publically makes fun of Naz, like in the last CP "Of course she does" when Jordan said Naz wasn't joking about spending even more time with him. The last 1on1 time she had with Jordan at the zoo really sounded friendzone to me. Not even mentioning the last cocktail party where she made the comment about not asking for time with Jordan. To be honest she is really bothering me now!! Still based on the edits of course.
After episode 1 and 2 maybe I thought Ceri would be a frontrunner, but very quickly I started picturing her as quite immature and needy, not my cup of tea. Plus I don't know if anyone saw that since I haven't read anything about that on the forums and SM but has anyone noticed she put on a lot of weight during the process??

I really like Erin, I think she might be the nicest person of all (with Rebecca maybe), plus I find her good looking. I would love to count someone like Erin as a friend. But I think she lacks of personality, I would love to see her with an extra plus of charisma. I think Gab has charisma, she is independant and I think Jordan likes that but I don't see any physical chemistry between those two. I've never been a fan of Gab, nor Kate.

So yeah, this season is quite disturbing as it is really hard to see a potential strong connection with any of the girls. Do you think that in the end, he might no choose anyone. I think this might be a possibility??

I agree on everything you say here except Jordan. I am not attracted physically and personality. But he could be a good friend to be around to tease.

Fleur: same. I liked her at first but now she annoys me a lot. You found the right definition about her: arrogant. She is showing some childish side to cope with her jealousy that I do not like.

Storm: I was totally baffled that she left so soon. But edits prepared us for it. Everyone is making big deal that she did not like him but that is real life. Because we do not find a person suitable, does not make this person evil IMO

Kate: I liked her bubbly personality but I remember that she does not give much room in public (jacuzzi group date). So IMO there is a lot of competition with Naz who also takes a lot of place. I find her ITM and catty comments about Naz totally annoying now. Bitching about a girl behind her back, knowing full well there are cameras crew who will probably use that,  is a nono for me.

Erin: She is way too reserved. I think she is a fantastic sweet girl but this competitive environment is not for her. She always takes the backseat and that is not what the show is about

Gabs: I cannot pinpoint why but she annoys me. I saw her pretty whinny at the beginning of the show because she did not have time with Jordan and pouting a lot during the RC. Now she seems more relaxed with him but I think she gives him what he wants. I see her in a good place for F1 for this reason. Physical chemistry: zero

Naz: the only girl I truly see a romantic and fun relationship. I truly see a relaxed Jordan, not afraid to say bad stupid grandpa jokes and not be judged. I see a man at ease around her. He takes her hand naturally. He is also very sweet with her and playful. For me, she is F1.

So unless I see something very romantic with any of the other girls, I think it is a done deal for me with Naz. But then again, I've been known for being wrong and see something completely different from the majority so who knows?

My issue, mostly, is that Naz edits were not good at the beginning of the show. Claudia was not the best person for her to be associated IMO. If she had been with rebecca or Shari, I think everyone would have seen her differently. That is a shame. For many episodes now, and since she had this long talk with Jordan at this RC (the "rosé" interruption), she changed IMO. I truly think that Jordan was into her a long time ago.

And you are right. I think Jordan just go with the flow of the motion. He does what they want him to do but he is not enthusiastic whatsoever. Maybe his choice was made long ago and going thru the dates and talk and being alone in his hotel each night (said in interview, writing his own diary) is too much for him.

For me it is clear from the start that he would never propose. I think he took the show as a possible dating field with no certainty. He is a very realistic guy, down to earth. I think what bother most is that he is not jumping ups and downs all over the place and show a lot of disinterest. What are the chances to find his soul mate in the show anyway?? Lets be honest, statistic are not good considering how many slit after the show in real life.

Everyone is complaining about Ceri and her terrible date. But at the end of the day, SHE was the one begging for a single date... so I find a bit over the top for her to complain about Jordan and all. It did not work, he was not attracted to her, please girl, move on graciously.

I like Storm's interview and she is making very clear that Naz is not the evil girl edited in the show.
