Gina, don't forget also that had they shown how intimate, comfortable AND interested Ashley obviously was in JP on that date, despite it being the same day that Bentley left and she supposedly "fell apart" because of him, it would be harder for the viewers to believe that she would continue to be obsessing so much over Bentley for the next couple of weeks, as was the planned storyline.

I truly believe Ashley was a basketcase after the "Roast" date and Bentley leaving the next morning. Had the roasts not played out as badly as they did, I don't think Bentley leaving would have been as devastating for her - it added insult to injury. Remember she had to wear her eyeglasses during her date w/ JP because her eyes were too swolen for contacts. That said, the producers owe alot to JP because he REALLY picked her up on that one-on-one date. Had there been no spark on their date - I honestly think she may have wanted to quit!

There were no planned one-on-one dates with Bentley through episode 3 - and as skeptical as she was of him, he probably would have been on the Phucket group date (had he stayed around) so Ashley could gauge whether he had a kind/generous bone in his body. While there's no denying she was attracted to him there were certainly lots of doubts. When she later admitted she 'fell for him', it was based on looks only.

I think the show was pretty fair showing everything because that's also the date Ashley said that while JP may be the best kisser, Bentley has her heart. Plus, she cried about Bentley and said how alone she felt at the following RC.

They are seriously so cute! Thanks so much for bringing that over jashfan That was the perfect way to end my night with a cute video of them before bed.

Ashley talks about the fact that she really didn't train as much as she should have for the half marathon, but she'll push through it, and her music will help motivate her. At the end, the interviewer asks her if she carb-loaded in preparation for the race, and Ashley says she did that morning, but she probably should have the day before, too. The interviewer asks JP if he carb-loaded on Ashley's behalf, and he laughingly says yes. Then Ashley laughs that JP does not eat a single carb, ever (I blame this on Nick). JP grins and says "that's not true," and Ashley giggles, points to him and says "Lying!" It's extremely cute, made possibly even cuter by Ashley's stuffed-up voice (she had a cold).
