bestbud!
Honestly the edit has been doing a number on me this season and I find myself choosing based on who is given screentime or had dates/edit, etc.

I am back to Storm as possible F1 but not sure if it is SM that is making me think that more than anything else, including edit? So far Rebecca and Fleur's dates have been skipped over when it comes to SM by the show - nothing posting about kissing or romance about either one but with Storm they keep emphasizing this?

I don't see Naz in F3 though - will be good to see if SCOUT's pics of Naz on her date with Jordan match clothing next week then we can try figure out the filming schedule based on that and rule out F3.

I just wish we'd see more of Rebecca. And Sarah. I just have no clue who F1 is. The edit is not giving us any decent clues. I'd like it to be Storm or Rebecca but after that great date with Fleur I definitely think she's in the running as well.

IA. I am not sure either on F1. I think SM and the rumors (very often proven true if going by last year) it may be Storm but I don't know. Like you I would like to see more of Rebecca and Sarah. Too much focus on MOT girls (Matter Of Time) and not enough on the girls that have had single dates/kiss, etc. Hopefully we get to see more next week? From the preview it looks like Rebecca will be on a groupdate and given some screentime?

Great info, @jen689! Helps a lot yes

I posted in the other thread potential filming schedule since it is confirmed that Finale Episode will be May 9 (with a live ATFR/WTA special). So that means 19 episodes total (3 more episodes than Art's season) and likely they filmed for longer? (hopefully we will be able to figure out when filming ended based on this and also now know that the season is not yet halfway).

Episode and filming schedule potentially: https://www.bachandbachettefans.net/t3219p60-bachelor-new-zealand-jordan-mauger-season-2-discussion-sleuthing-spoilers#943711

I have just listened to Lara’s interview with an interviewer from Scout. I do not know if it just me but each girl who has left the show has either been blindsided by Jordan or very surprised at the level of bitchiness shown on the episodes. Most are unware of Naz’s game plan and when they find out after the show they are perturbed. Lara cites the Anna incident and the role Naz played in her demise. Lara suggests that Jordan is leading some of the woman on and I suspect she is correct. Jordan appeared to reassure Storm almost saying this is what I have to do but I still really like you, hang in there. I have not seen him reassure anyone else. Though Naz appears to constantly stroke Jordan’s ego, as a result I think less of him for allowing her to have such power. He must have some insight even if it for the ratings.

Why is Rebecca so very quiet? Why is Storm having such a media build up?

Jordan does have an expectation that the women seek him out and seems to penalize them for not doing so. Each person is different and for some this may not be their style, as Lara suggests.

Also is just me? But do the women seem quite somber, there does not seem to be much playfulness, more tension really. Lara in the article below says that there is too much kissing. Is this the reason for the tension? In the American shows there is more kissing. I am not connecting to the show on some level and I cannot put my finger on it yet. Maybe it is the editing.

I was really interested to read @HEA overview, very informative

Lara Scout interview.
“When you start realising that he’s, you know, kissing all these girls. You’re like ‘mate, are you kidding me?’. If you’re not into me, it’s really hard to give a lot back.”
Lara says Jordan may be leading some of the girls on.
“That’s what he’s there to do. He’s there to make those 23-odd women fall for him.”
She went on: “This time, on The Bachelor NZ, it’s not really clear who he’s got that connection with.”
One girl who didn’t get a real shot at love is Anna, Lara said, who was evicted earlier on.
“I think it was really unfair, especially with Anna, that he listened to what someone else said about her, but never actually asked her what she said.
“I guess that was part of [Naz’s] game plan. But I don’t know, I just don’t agree with that’

"That wasn't an Exit interview. But I love that the girls are seeing through Jordan and his dishonesty with his feelings. Good for Nicole recognizing that she was wasting her time with Jordan and deciding to leave herself. Although, it would have been extra cool if she had waited until he offered her a rose at the rose ceremony, and her declining to accept it. hehehehe."

I thought this comment on the Bachelor NZ FB page was interesting, the photo of the FB person was of a older man.

We'll be seeing a lot more of Rebecca starting next week and as the season progresses. The previews show she's on the hula date. I think they're considering Storm for the Bachelorette

Karina wrote:Jordan does have an expectation that the women seek him out and seems to penalize them for not doing so.
He seeks out the women he's interested in. If the women make an effort he'll keep them around. He has to eliminate somebody so why not the ones who don't seem that invested

Karina wrote:Lara in the article below says that there is too much kissing. Is this the reason for the tension? In the American shows there is more kissing
Before going on the show all the contestants should all watch a few seasons of the US Bachelor/Bachelorette then they'll understand the kissing and the how the show's premise is for the lead to chose one woman at the end

Lucky for Jordan he's an actor so it's probably not hard to do. That's the leads job. He can't leave filming with multiple girlfriends just a F1

Jordan said during the dog washing date he and Anna didn't connect. Jordan wasn't interested in Anna with or with out the Naz drama JMO

It is difficult for a contestant to build a connection with Jordan if time is not given to do so. I was re reading Anna’s interviews and though she may not have had a connection with Jordan she felt maligned by Naz and that Jordan not did talk to her about the incident. Valid point. Totally get it that he did not feel connected to her however Lara’s perspective was insightful.
Anna’s perspective Stuff Magazine, May,15,2016.
"Watching the girls scheme behind my back was pretty intense," she said. "I had no idea it was happening at the time, so watching it with the rest of New Zealand was full on."
In a bid to see Marshall make a swift departure, Naz took it upon herself to notify Jordan that she believed the Nelson-born bachelorette was "definitely not here for the right reasons".
In the wake of all that drama, Marshall said that there's "definitely" still hard feelings towards existing bachelorettes Naz and Claudia.
"Definitely, I don't think that anybody should behave like that. You know, like it's morally not ok and I wasn't brought up to do that," she said ‘
Lyndsay said the following
‘Maybe I am too much of an independent woman, you know, I don't know what he's thinking, but that's just a guess,” Stuff, March 16. Interesting comment as Lyndsay is a very astute intelligent woman.
Amanda said she was blindsided etc. Most of the woman who have eliminated has stated that they were given not the opportunity to have time with Jordan. It appears that if they struggle to be competitive i.e Naz then it could be a precarious, uncomfortable situation for them. Of course Jordan can eliminate whomever he chooses. Danielle also felt she was ‘friend zoned’ but truly believed she was going on the next single date as she had not much time with him. It is a communication thing really.

The Bachelor NZ exit interviews [Lara/Nicole}

Two contestants left The Bachelor NZ last night -- one by choice and one by elimination. However, both Lara and Nicole say they didn't have feelings for the bachelor, Jordan Mauger. Nicole chose to leave for family reasons but says she didn't have a connection with him, which was another incentive to leave. "I wasn't feeling anything for him," the 24-year-old said. The veterinarian said it was the right decision for her to leave rather than waiting to be eliminated, so she could get on with things back home, and has accepted a job in Australia, which she leaves for today.

Marketing manager Lara didn't receive a rose at the second Hawaiian rose ceremony, but that didn't seem to faze her. "I honestly wasn't sad to leave. I'm sad the experience is over but hand on heart, after a couple of weeks it was hard to be there without having a connection. "I would've found it difficult to come out of my shell that far down the track," she admitted. The 27-year-old never went on a solo date with Jordan, and said she probably spent a total of two hours with him in total. "I had the best intentions going in. Jordan is a nice guy, he's charming and witty but not having a connection was difficult."

Both blonde beauties said their favourite part of the experience was befriending the other bachelorettes. "The girls were rad. There was this element of loyalty and comradery in the house," Lara said. Twenty-four-year-old Nicole said she made 24 new friends and there were no regrets leaving.

However, watching yourself on TV is no easy feat; Lara said she would have to have finished a bottle of wine and have her friends sit her down and tape open her eyes before she could watch it.

Nicole said it was funny watching herself back, and that she was happy with the way she was represented on the show.

Jordan is only going to request time with those he has a connection with. The contestants who have left may not understand the production side of the show. There isn't enough time for him to explore relationships with all the women.

Real feelings are involved but at the end Jordan is only going to choose one woman. There's a 1:23 chance of being the F1. Nobody likes to get hurt but that's part of the premise of the show JMO
