The Bachelor 20 - Ben Higgins - Episode 9 - Discussion - #2 *Sleuthing - Spoilers*

I can see where Fleiss rub his hands with glee when the first promos came out with "The Perfect Ten (Ben)". The promos weren't lying.

Now I think both come in on a helicopter...not that it matters. Not that anyone cares at this point with Love-gate still being the topic de nuit.

I'm not rooting for them any less. I still like Ben- he never seemed like the brightest bulb, though.

So are we to figure out who he loves more by counting the ily's.

Maybe Ben made up with chosen F1 by all expense paid trips. Lol, Bachelor and wine gets it every time

And though not a popular opinion I'm sure, I found Ben to have a more natural FD with the most chemistry that I'd expect with an F1 with Jojo (but I've felt that way all season so I'm biased).  He seemed more distant and reserved with Lauren, body language off etc, IMO.  Guilt maybe, but off to me nonetheless. 

I loved Jojo asking if he was allowed to say that and he said no. 

And for my own crazy theory, what about Ben saying so many ILYs to Jojo that TPTB told him he had to do the same with Lauren?  and that's what made him seem more uncomfortable and distant with her than normal. Man, is the dumping going to be rough for one of them when they both will feel 100% confident.

Oh wow...he looks like he is more in love with JoJo than Lauren to me.  Ben and JoJo seem more real and have a certain ease with each other.   I'm beginning to wonder if he is with either one of them right now.  He may still be trying to decide.

Looking at screen caps, Lauren arrives second.

Ben, Ben, Ben. What were you thinking? I think his age is finally showing.  My 28 yr old brother (who is forced to watch the show with his new fiance) snapchatted a screen shot of Ben on his tv during the show with the caption "this dude has issues....".  

Anyway,  I taped the episode so that the first time I watched it I could fast forward and rewind in order to see things in order as they really happened.  I don't know....it's like he was in a complete daze the entire date with Lauren.  The dude didn't know his azz from a hole in the ground.  Was it guilt, confusion, love.....I have no idea what to make of it.    

All I do know, is that if he and his F1 make it thru this cluster and the media crap storm that's about to rain down on them.....it will be a complete miracle.  Sex or even saying that you are falling in love with someone in this bubble is one thing.....but knowing that your fiance declared his love for someone over and over and over, 2 days before you became engaged, would be a tough pill to swallow.

Yuck.

My heart ached for JoJo this episode when I saw her reaction to him saying he loves her too.

It seems like everyone is forgetting that this is A TV SHOW!!! The drama is amplified, the feelings are amplified... Everything is blown out of proportion!

Should Ben have told both girls he loved them? No. But IMO, Ben was saying what he felt in the moment with each girl. When he went on his date with JoJo, he didn't know Lauren would later confess her love for him. He only knew that JoJo loved him and he felt feelings of love for her too. So being the honest, in the moment, caring guy that he is, he expressed that. Was he thinking about the future and the repercussions? Obviously not, but if he was, he would be playing this whole thing safe and he wouldn't be being true to himself. As Trista Sutter just tweeted, "Without risk, there is no reward!"

In the end, he loved both girls at the end of this process, but loved one more than the other and could truly see his life with one over the other. (I will also say that I still believe his I love yous to Lauren seemed much more sincere and heartfelt).

Obviously he has told his F1 about all of this. He isn't stupid! And no, it can't be easy to watch, but I feel like the ITM tonight of Lauren saying "I certainly think it's possible to be in love with two people" or something to that extent, already shows us that she is forgiving and understanding about this whole crazy process and the feelings that can develop. Freaking out that she needs to dump him right now over something that happened in November is a little outrageous, IMO. We have no idea how their relationship has developed since this was filmed 4 months ago.

This show is not real life, in real life you don't date multiple people at once, therefore, the rule of the relationship while on this show obviously do not apply the way they would in real life. Now that the show is over, the rule apply, but anything that happened while filming cannot be held against the lead, IMO.
