OMG! this is big, his mom's opinion matters a lot to him.

Again the mum did not say she was disapproving of Lauren! She was pushed to pick one after talking to the girls for maybe 10 minutes each! She is not putting a big red flag up about the one she doesnt pick, but making a snap judgement based on her OWN preference for her son.

She doesn't need an hour to know, she knows her son, and based on that,as a mom, she cam recommend. Ben doesn't have to follow, but he will always know that he didn't pick mom's preference. This just makes his decision more difficult now.

I still believe, when it comes to marriage, your parents opinion matters a lot, unless you are not a close family, then who cares.

As for mum's opinions, I disagree. My MIL called me a French wh*re in front of all our friends at my then boyfriend's 21 party, and offered to introduce him to a "good irish girl" 2 weeks before our wedding. We have been married 14 years.

yes she is extreme, but bottom line is that I do not believe "mum knows best" in matter of love and long term relationships.

And by the way, my hubby's family is as close as it gets, their dad passed when he was a teen and he is the eldest.

if I know the producers like Lauren should by now, not much. I would pick up the phone and have a honest chat with my future MIL and a good laugh about it. But then again probably not, causse my and my MIL arent that close
