Actors and actresses don't talk about how much they're helping people by acting in movies. They do it for money and everybody knows they're doing it for money.
How do you know that he was using it before he was selling it? He might say he used it before but all endorsers have to say they use the products. That's not necessarily true all the time. Anyway, money doesn't have anything to do with his decision to use it, but I think it does influence his decision to sell it. He doesn't seem to have another job so I assume that since Advocare is his only job, he would need to make some money from it.
I also think that volunteering and charity are different from a job. Volunteering is a free offer to do something. Josh makes money from Advocare so it's a job, it's not volunteering and it's not only about helping people. If he didn't want the money and it was only about helping people, then why doesn't he do it for free like you did.
I really am going to have to disagree with you on all accounts. I'm a mortgage broker, I love putting mortgages together for my clients. Do you really think I'm going to do that for free? IMO it's ridiculous to ask Josh to work for free just because he says he loves what he's does with Advocare. He does plenty of charity work for free. Loveinterest has indicated Josh used Advocare before he started selling it. She/He appears to know.
If I found something I loved to sell where I can make a lot of money, I'd be doing that 24 hours a day, believe me. When you have bills to pay, and need money to support yourself with no other income, finding a product that you totally endorse, which can potentially lead to a 6 figure income, anyone would be crazy not to do it.
I don't expect him or anybody to work for free. I won't work for free either because I acknowledge that I need and want the money even if I love my job. That's why it's called a job. My problem is that he makes it seem like it's solely for the purpose of helping people. If it was ONLY about helping people and nothing else, then he shouldn't want the money. The fact that he accepts payment for it means that it is partly about the money.
By saying that when you have bills to pay and need money to support yourself, it's a good opportunity to endorse a product, that acknowledges that he does do it partly for the money (which is fine), not necessarily because he want the money, but because he needs it to pay his bills.

I don't think he should talk about the money he makes all the time and I also dont think he should ever say how much he makes, but I just felt like he made it seem like it was all about helping people and nothing else and I don't think that's true. I think money has played some part in his decision to sell Advocare.
He keeps talking about how much he loves helping people and he just doesn't seem to be very genuine to me, but that's just my opinion. I think that if you enjoy helping people, you don't have to say it all the time. I wonder if he thinks he's helping people by doing Famously Single too.

They're supposed to make the client feel good while selling their product simultaneously. It would be bad for Josh's career if he started telling his clients he was doing it for the money. I'm sure they know that already since the primary reason almost everyone does their job is for the money and everything else is secondary even if they enjoy it. But they sure don't need to hear it coming out of the salesperson's mouth. I doubt anyone would like it if they walked into a store and the salesperson was all like, "Hey you know I'm just helping you for the paycheck, right? Sure I enjoy this job, but I'm really here for the money" No, most people want a warm, friendly person to help them with what they're looking for and for that person to seem like they care about helping them. There's nothing wrong with that. It's their job to do that.
I agree, as long as we can establish that his motives aren't completely selfless like I think he tries to make it appear.

I would love to see this proof too because I don't think it exists. I follow Josh on all his SM, and no, he has never tweeted, posted on IG, snapchatted or stated on Periscope that he does Advocare solely because he loves to help people. In fact, I recall one interview in Toronto when he was asked about all his traveling and he stated he traveled alot to help his team members grow their businesses. Those who know about Advocare know it's both about health and wellness as well as earning an income. No one is hiding that fact. I don't know why this is still being discussed because, from what I have seen, there is no substance to this claim that he declared he is doing this for all selfless reasons.

I think it more boils down to just not caring for certain bach contestants. I know I have mine, namely one - Josh's ex -who can do nothing right in our eyes. No matter what they do, there is just something about them we don't like and they will never measure up. IMO.

Indeed.
I have so many problems with MLM as well as this particular product that I'm not gonna give Josh any credit for this. Some people's appearance and well-being might've been changed for now thanks to his shilling, but I'm positive it would have just based on the dietary changes and whatever else they promote aside from the actual products. The junk is totally secondary and possibly very harmful in the long run. And that's what he's banking on, that they will keep using those products for a long time. Just no. You can't compare this stuff to prescribed medications that come with an extensive list of side effects and are taken under the surveillance of a doctor. Taking meds isn't promoted as a healthy lifestyle either, while AdvoCare is. Just because most people aren't dropping dead after taking it doesn't mean it's perfectly fine, let alone healthy. Not to mention the cost, which is ridiculous for the content.
I don't know or care what his intentions are, but when it comes down to it, he's just taking advantage of his fanbase. JMO.

Carrie: What an amazing observation!

I was a nurse for 36 yrs. Did I initially go into nursing to help people--yeah. But I also went into nursing for a variety of other reasons: flexible hours, decent wages, variety of interest areas, mental stimulation.
Things are not always black and white.
Over my career there were things I despised and things I loved. Not all of those things I loved had to do with being Mother Theresa and not all of those had to do with being Scrooge McDuck. Again there were gradients of black to white.
I can't imagine any field that is any different.
JMO but the sad thing is when someone is stuck doing a job they hate for whatever reason.
Josh seems happy and he seems healthy. I'm not crazy about what he promotes, but thankfully there is freedom of choice for me and I don't have to buy it and he isn't forcing it on me. Good all the way around.
No good deed goes unpunished.
Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, bye Felicia!
