I totally agree. When my son was young he didn't want to visit his Dad because he had a new g/f and she was a whacko. I never agreed with him, that she was nuts, even though she was, and I forced him to go, because I knew there would be a time when he would be old enough to choose to visit his Dad or not. But in the meantime, no ex inlaws were going to blame me for not letting him see his Dad. She could have IMO used a different approach, keeping it classy.

ITA, you just don't air all that dirty laundry on tv. JoJo did it well IMO. Amanda could've said the relatuinship was messy, and leave it at that. Snez (<3) was perfect about it.

We sleuthed her ex early on (at the beginning of the thread) and I recall reading a SM comment that he actually cried when Amanda walked down the aisle at their wedding which I found very touching.  Also, his IG account is all about his kids at various ages so he was at least in their prescience long enough to have his photo taken them.  That doesn't mean any of what she said was true/untrue, but it lacked maturity on her part to bad mouth her ex on national TV, IMO.  It will be interesting to see if he retaliates by going to the rag mags about her.  Time will tell.

Amanda really came across as immature and bitter to me last night.
She whined about her ex (whom she chose to have children with despite his issues) and then goes on the Bachelor and leaves her little ones to be taken care of while she does what exactly?
Pfft.. I wish she was sent home earlier because I have zero interest in manufactured HTDs to try bring sympathy.
This may sound cold but I have none... they were all her choices.

^ Not cold imo. And that is from the perspective of a woman who raised two children alone from toddler age(no family to help) when my ex underwent a radical personality change after our two children were born due to the miracle of fertility drugs. And imo, when you are responsible for bringing two innocent children into the world, it's all about CHOICES as to what is best for them.

I'm mixed on Amanda talking about her ex. On one hand, the contestants are encouraged to talk about their past relationships, and it sounds like he was a complete POS and deserved to be named all over the place as a BAD GUY. OTOH, it seems like Amanda does not have sole custody of her kids, and it's really not good to poison young children against one parent or another. And even though the kids don't watch the show now, it's not like it isn't impossible that they find out about it all when they get older and it re-opens the whole mess.

Honestly, I find Amanda to be nice but dull. At least Emily was kind of an evil genius. I'd bet Amanda is a good person to be friends with and probably fun to chill with, but she doesn't make compelling TV. That said, she'll probably be on BIP this summer because I'd bet a lot of the Bachelor Nation guys are going to want to date her.

The ex may have been a crappy husband and father, but I'm pretty sure he's still providing for those kids financially, and Amanda as well. I looked through his IG months back and he seemed to be doing very well for himself careerwise. Not saying that makes up for not spending time with the kids, but IMO it should earn him the right to not have his dirty laundry aired on national television. She didn't need to go into that much detail and it didn't make her look very good either. No one gets pregnant by accident twice in two years. Seems like the second pregnancy was intentional even though they were already having major issues. That is just stupid and she was 23 already. Young still, but not much younger than she is now. I doubt she's really matured as much as she thinks she has. Going on this show is a good indication.

Also, by opening the trashing your ex on a tv show watched by millions of people will give him an excuse to fire back and air your dirty laundry too, if he so wishes. I bet Amanda doesn't want that. It also sours the current co-parenting situation. He may be the biggest douche on the planet, but you still have to deal with him because of the kids.

It could also bring her parenting into question with the courts. Lay low and behave is probably the best option and she did not abide by those things.

Yes, fembot is right. I get very little emotion from her. She hardly ever seems to smile...really smile or laugh. Could be Botox or she just has very little personality.

She seemed (and seems) more excited about Lauren B than Ben.
I was so bored on her date and her blah-producer-driven "woe is me I am a single mother of two kids who is on the Bachelor".
Cry me a river... I just tuned out to her story (heard too many times on this show).
At least Jubilee's story came across authentic... Amanda's did my head in and made me like her even less.

I suspect she is not the brightest bulb in the pack and seems to lack a sense of humour from what I have seen. I pray that she is not the bette. I really could not take a full season of her. Dullsville.
