I meant the network. But yes I was really really hoping some morality could eek out from someone with the power. Like I said, really just wishful thinking on my part.Kashathediva wrote:Who would take a moral stance? The show?
The same show that put a boom outside closed doors of another leader and TOG? The same show who's creator and exec producer is cousins with Heidi Fleiss?
This show hopes cast make poor choices, they bank on it. JMOAA

Yes, ^ I realized that is where you were coming from, and IA.
But it unfortunately isn't going to happen. The show is a parody. Sometimes I expect CM to pause for Weekend Update News.

I guess I am one of the few who don't have a problem with single parents looking for love like this as long as the kids are well cared for at home. There are many jobs that the parent has to be away for a long period of time and the kids turn out just fine. I think it is easier for the younger kids then it is for a child who is in the school age years (6-18). I can hardly wait to see Amanda on screen and see what she is like. But then this is just my opinion.

We are just a few. I would not go on this show - kids or not but so many are/have been so more power to them.
Her kids in particular are well looked after it seems and even have the presence of the other parent (it seems) so pretty sure they are fine. IMO the mother will feel it more than the kids. If my own kids and I are my yardstick which obviously it is.
And TA with the bolded in particular.

I understand that, but for me, it's hard to compare a job to going on the Bachelor. Most parents work because they need to provide for their children. People usually go on the Bachelor for fame and opportunities. If it was just about love, one could easily use a dating app or something. And, most business trips aren't for 1-2 months straight - they usually do see their children consistently during that time. JMO.

It will be interesting to see what Amanda has to say about the decision to come on the show. I can't imagine that it won't come up. I wonder too what Ben's thoughts are about it are. He wants to get married and have kids. I think it would concern me if I were looking at her as a spouse and her making the decision to do this. JMO

Yes that. Though since she is not the first single mother on this show it will not come as a complete shock.
I'm more interested in seeing how and when she tells him of this.
I saw a clip of TB aus Sam wood and when his pick, a single mother told him while they were on a date his face was :shocked!:

I haven't seen enough seasons yet to be acclimatized to parents of young kids being ok with being away from their children by choice for as long as could be possible. Jmo.
ETA: re-read and think this may be coming off as snarky but not intending it to, I just don't know how else to say that the thought of a mom of an 18 mo old and 3 1/2 yr old choosing to go on A TV SHOW!! for as long as she is just makes my jaw drop IMO.

Well said. To me, there's a difference that parents NEED to be away because they NEED to provide for the family, or because of prior commitments. To me, Amanda WANTS to be on tv for whatever reason, exposure, fame or, love (right!)

Can we please get the correct ages confirmed when referencing the children.
I've seen 5 yrs old 3 yrs old 18 months old 1 1/2 yrs old. If we don't know then please don't reference the age. "Young children" IMO is sufficient reference if ages aren't known. TY

I saw a post that said the oldest turned three 26 weeks ago. And 18 months is another more common phrase for 1 1/2 years old. I've never said 5 years old. I hope this helps.GuardianAngel wrote:Can we please get the correct ages confirmed when referencing the children.

:I agree:IMO there is a huge difference between a parent, let's say in the military who gets shipped out for a period of months, and a young woman who chooses to leave her small daughters for a month or more to go on a stupid TV show where there's no guarantee she'll either make money or find love. These are just not values that I find admirable and as a mother, I would certainly have not been supportive if my daughter did this.
