Olivia Caridi - Bachelor 20 - *Sleuthing - Spoilers*

Glad to see Olivia has a little support on this board

Olivia has support from Bach Alum as well, including Nick, Sharleen, and Ali.

To me this show has crossed the line. There's a villain edit and then there's just plain targeting someone for their own entertainment which is NOT entertaining in the least to me. We get it TPTB, Olivia's the villain. Enough is enough.

I don't mind Olivia. She kind of puts her foot in her mouth. But feels bad after the fact. I don't think she is intentionally trying to be malicious.

There have been many worse villains than her. The "teen mom" comment was not supposed to be implied the way it was taken.

But she did give them stuff to work with, But they took it, stretched it, gave it steroids.. and TADA... we have a making of a Villain.

Nothing new to them.

It's crazy to me: As much as I think that she agreed to play this over-the-top, aggressive, out-of-touch role, the show has most likely damaged her career. Unlike other contestants who benefit from this show, how does Olivia come back from this situation to launch a successful journalism career? Even sadder: Because she signed the contract, she can't sue them for damages.

This show does not cross the line as the line has never been drawn with this show. The goal is to jump the shark each season after the other. Thus the contract stating they have the right to portray a cast person in any light they deem. (paraphrase) I am not supporting this POV. Not at all. This is simply how it is. Season 1 they put edible body paints in the fantasy suites and encouraged usage. Last season they honored the audience with the oral ooooh and ahhhs from K and Nick during their private sex time. Olivia is not the first to suffer at their hands and won't be the last unless this is the last season and even then I suspect there are other tricks to be played this season after she is eliminated.

It's not the edit or what is done on/during the show that is crossing the line for me, it's the use of SM of the show and by viewers who are targeting her most this season (pretty much only her). This SM usage to target and mock is the new addition to the show and getting worse and worse with each year. It never was around from the inception of the show and much would be forgotten after a season ended. With SM now, viewers get to play judge and jury and it is this that has really changed the show and seems to thus have a more lasting impact on contestants real lives. The addition of Bachelor Live which ties into SM (the poll with 96% saying Ben should take back Olivia's rose for example) only seems to add to this, imo. I can't say I am surprised at all though - this is the modus operandi of TPTB after all and indeed, there is no "line". I dunno... I guess I am just tired and bored with it. There's barely a lovestory shown and what is shown I don't find entertaining.

I think this ^^ is simply a microcosm of society. There is a lot of hate and aggression constantly shoved forefront that it becomes norm rather than the good sam story.
I don't want to hijack the topic with that discussion and it's only my opinion.

This show was not developed by it's producers to be a love story. It was developed as a social experiment yada yada. Even with that, it is becoming stale however(IMOAA) it's in its 20 season, so I am not surprised.
I do think eventually we will get both of the F2 rejecting the main. That should be fun.

With Lace drama she was overindulged so she got away with it especially since she got to go on Bachelor Live to redeem herself and the producers wanted her for BIP. It does seem like the bullies this season are the producers with the way they have edited Olivia. Sure she gave them the expressive faces (so has been comic relief) and said a few things that did not seem bad intentioned towards anyone, but the other girls commenting on her breath is a low blow when shown over & over. We saw her say in one of her in the moments she was happy for Lauren H to get a date so she probably said other nice things but they aren't shown so she appears more villainous. The other girls all making comments about her clothes, her ugly toes , her breath is petty jealousy since they see her as a frontrunner with the first impression rose then the most compatible result on the science date and with her focus on ben. What irks me is she doesn't have the same opportunity for redemption since there is no more episodes of Bachelor live.

I was rolling my eyes at Emily's fake tears and calling Olivia a bully? The way I see it, emily and Olivia are 'playing' the same game, interrupting Ben when he talks with others, grabbing him first, but Emily's the one sitting around and gossiping about Olivia, not the other way around.

YES! I see Emily as the bully, not Olivia. Olivia is naive, not mean. (IMO)

I feel really bad for Olivia, especially after watching that BullyFest that is Bachelor Live. What's the point in asking mean poll questions and getting overwhelmingly negative results. I expected them to have a 'So, everyone, turns out 100% of the audience thinks Olivia is a malicious bitch with bad breath, what interesting results indeed...'

Is Olivia friends with the twins now? I really hope she puts them on blast at the WTA for making all those jokes about her physical appearance and breath.
