Olivia Caridi - Bachelor 20 - *Sleuthing - Spoilers*

What really bothered me was when Olivia hed her panic attack melt down.  You could hear her begging for off camera time BUT No she had to "talk" with her handlers.  You could see in her vulnerability that see was looking for understanding and validation of her feelings BUT instead she was being fed more BS about how she really needed to sort things out with Ben. Obviously Olivia gave TPTB the material to work with BUT they are twisting it and focusing on it so much to create the Character they want us to see at the expense of the very real person with true feelings that is Olivia IRL.  I think it is reckless and mean and IMO this time they have pushed the issue to far. I feel very bad for Olivia. Sadly I only think it will get worse over the next two episodes.  I hope IRL Olivia is surrounded by loving and supportive people as she weathers this TPTB driven media storm.

I do have to wonder what is going on with her though. One the one hand she says she was bullied and lacks self confidence, but on the other she's so overly confident that without even a date she believes he's all hers. And why would anyone do a strip tease for the "talent" show? WHY? It's hard to watch. Anyone know who her producer/handler is? They will no doubt be getting a promotion.

Totally agree!!!  Chris Harrison seemed to relish in humiliating Olivia last night - and even encouraged everyone else onstage to do the same thing.  How would he like it if his own daughter was treated like that?  He seems to forget that Olivia is someone's daughter too, and it must be terrible for her family to have to witness this happening to her.  Shame on him!!!

I really started thinking about that, Jubilee is another girl who is expected to have a meltdown that is absolutely predictable in this scenario.    I dunno, I don't like when people with psychological problems are being shown in this kind of light... it is cruel

I don't think these people have true psychological problems. I think they actually do try to weed those people out because they could be held responsible and sued if something happened. They do however look for those who have vulnerabilities that they can exploit. I find that they particularly like to play off of what people consider their strengths. Last season Kaitlyn was the modern woman, confident in her sexuality and that was her undoing. This season Olivia is the news anchor who is confident in her ability in front of the camera. We'll show her...and shebang!...you get a basket case in front of the whole world.

Future contestants beware. Your biggest strength could turn out to be your biggest downfall!

Ben's word association for Olivia on Ellen today was "INTENSE" which I definitely think is spot on and an apt description of her.
(Lauren B was sweet, JoJo was passionate, Caila was Sexy, Becca was sincere, Amanda was tender, etc etc).

I have been thinking the same thing!!! It now appears that they are beginning to take the level of humiliation with Olivia beyond anything that I can recall. And I bet that her handler got a big bonus check out of it.

are taking it too far. Kinda sickening, because they probs were telling her "Yea, Olivia he still really likes you the best, you should go talk to him again." Ick.

I think when Lace was still on the show the mockery wasn't as intense but now that Lace left Olivia is getting the full brunt of TPTB meanspiritedness which is what I see it as.
They are definitely laughing at Olivia and not with her.

I am even surprised a bit at how Ben has not been as PC as I thought he would be with his response/reaction to Olivia post-show.
Even how Ben described Olivia on the Ellen show made me realize he really does not like her at all.

Olivia for me has been a comic relief. Boy she cracks me up. I can't tell if it's all an act or she is being dead serious. At times I think she has no clue whatsoever, and is not that perceptive, but then she will pick up when Ben is not responsive and I go hmmm not that clueless after all.

How an educated, intelligent, and a career woman like her who has seen this show before could loose herself like that on this show bugles my mind.

I see this too and believe this is partly to do with his girlfriend's and her new best friend's dislike for her. Did you notice how he described the twins with more appreciation than I thought he really felt during filming for them? They are also his girlfriend's new best friends. At the beginning I saw him as being more honest and PC but now he's either been worn down by tptb or realizes he has to lie a little to get out of this as best he can. Jmo

They(TPTB) do extensive psychological testing in the screening process and then use the results to their advantage. Example: adrenaline fear dates and phobias. 
Chris Manson and company are not nice people. They can be very insidious and make even nice people be mean people. All the leads have had some tarnishing. 
However, the cast sign contracts that all types of evil things can be done to them. Think about this. Not something I would take lightly.
