Last year I actually got really into #teamnick train because of the huge criticism he was receiving ... this year I notice Shawn is getting more heat - on this forum, not on SM - so I see change of "tides" ...
also, I've read around and seen comments about "Nick's fans painting him as a saint who can't do no wrong". :halo: (nope)

I would like to state, that there are plenty of fans who see Nick's mistakes, we even acknowledge them, but in the abundance of negativity he is receiving (mostly still related to last year "performance") - and this time it's more on SM, since this sweet heaven brought more "confident" members out to voice their support - we prefer to explain his actions, defend his right and view things from another angle, positive one. No need to when there's already enough of those who "shoot darts" at him. :winkie:

The whole "beauty" for me watching/following Nick is ... seeing him making the mistakes ... and then mend the situation, get out of the mess, learn something from it, exculpate for whatever wrongdoing ... that's my personal enjoyment to see him RISE AFTER the FALL.

So, RS posted a reader email where they talked about meeting Nick in a bar and said that he was a really nice guy, but her friends have seen Nick making out and going home with women from bars many times over the past year. RS said that he's been told that by at least 5 other people.

I tend to believe it, because what single 34 y/o single guy isn't having casual sex these days? I wonder if this has to anything to do with K/N's possible animosity?

What happened to the Nick that considered sex to be fiancé type stuff? He changed fast.

Don't want to rehash all the fiancée type stuff controversy but I remember similar rumblings about Nick during last season and even a post on RS that he was flirting with a girl at a bar prior to ATFR taping. He is single so it does not surprise me.

He is allowed, of course. It just seems like evidence of how much the show really can change people.

My thoughts exactly! I was among the original Nick Chicks last season and spent way too much time trying to prove that he was Andi's F1. I had zero problem with his actions at Andi's ATFR and LOVED that he rode off into the sunset and had virtually nothing to do with the franchise.

And then he came back just prior to start of Chris's season and ever since I just can't get out of my head that Nick being on the show is more about TPTB wanting to bring back the "villain" who gets under guys skin and breaks up the frat party. Call me a crazy conspiracy theorists but I think TPTB were planning to bring Nick back on the show regardless of who the Bachelorette was and played matchmaker to get things going with Kaitlyn and Nick via Twitter, Text and Skype in the weeks when she clearly was a top choice for lead role.

While Nick and Kaitlyn have great chemistry, I thought he had a better, more believable connection with Andi. His connection with Kaitlyn fits perfectly with the season's theme of in-your-face sexuality (a la guest star Amy Schumer) and even their first one on one was more like watching soft porn as they made-out in various tourist spots of Ireland during the middle of the day. Who does that?! And come on ... who has sex with their microphone packs still on UNLESS they were told to do so by production?!  

The real kicker (and producer manipulation at its finest) for me was this past episode:

1. Nick saying the most uncomfortable I love you to Kaitlyn (even Joe's was a twinge more believable!!). Nick was jerking his head and rolling his eyes around like he was having some sort of attack.

2. Nick leaning against Shawn's building the morning after S's overnight with Kaitlyn. In all prior seasons of both shows, we have never, ever seen the guys (or women) interact when it's down to just three so they can try to forget about others being involved and fall in deeper bubble love with lead. Yet there's Nick waiting for Shawn.

3. Nick complaining that Shawn mentioned that he just got done with his one on one with Kaitlyn. Give me a break. Wouldn't that be obvious since it was fantasy suite date week?

This is just such a wonky season. Instead of watching the Bachelorette, it feels like I am watching a dramedy on Bravo or Lifetime with bad acting by some and over the top producer manipulation screwing royally with the heads of others.

Whether Nick's return was payback for spoiling last season or to test him out for next Bachelor or to ensure that Kaitlyn has a F1 if no one else worked out ... who knows.  

I just hope that Nick got out of this appearance what he wanted. Kaitlyn is a sweet, pretty and fun loving girl, for sure, but I am betting that there are lots of sweet and pretty girls just like her out and about partying in Chicago or teaching spin classes at the gym so I am sure he'll be able to readily replace her with someone new.

ETA: ANd, if RS emails are correct, he certainly is. Nice reminder that this is a TV show!! Guess Nick paid his debt back to Fleiss this season and he's free to move on.

Hilarious. I'm so thrilled Kait's fiance stuff is all out in the open and no one is having a church bbq to celebrate the finale.

I'm not interested to "defend" his personal choices of "mates" (women ... so that I'm not misleading), because I'm not his "tail" to know... but I don't "buy gossip".
I'm quite allergic to it. I experienced it first hand ... and it's so easy to get the "incorrect story" out that this world turns out to be scarier than any horror I prefer not to watch.

On the other note ... sometimes very vehement defense of Nick can be counter-productive, just the same the strong criticism of Kaitlyn's (or Shawn's) actions can "bite" Nick's camp in the a$$ ... because nobody is above others. JMO

As someone who really had no stake in last season at all because I did not find Andi likeable.  I felt that Nick's comments to Andi at the ATFR were coming from a place of emotion.  Was it rude and misguided, absolutely but I know for myself and probably most of us that I am not my normal rational self when I am overly emotional and feeling wounded.  Can we all just put this  to rest and send last seasons transgression to bed.  I have become a Nick supporter based on who he has shown himself to be this season.  I have posted previously that what I find appealing with Nick is his quirkiness, admitted flaws and realness. In keeping with the tenor of this season "the cocktail" that is Nick Viall ..... I'm ordering!  He is one of the few people on this show who does not seem contrived.  As always JMO
