Yep. I think the sex with Nick bothered Josh a lot, as I think finding out one bestie had sex with Chris Soules and wanted Becca helped kill whitney's "love". They are very new relationships when they get off the show. It is hard to avoid media. Maintaining a relationship is difficult in the best of circumstances, but hearing that my boyfriend/ girlfriend had sex with others over and over would probably ring the death knell for me. Remember, Des never had sex with Brooks. Easier pill to swallow. FreKing J.P. is the exception, not the rule.

Sorry for the double post, but get outta my head. This is the only possible way I would buy Shawn not being with K. To take it one step further, the whole thing could have been staged. Perhaps Shawn never had sex with K. The Snapshot had him barechested and her in a top discussing a video game. His friends were discussing him being the bachelor and he quit his job. Nobody saw a sex scene with Shawn. We have seen a barechested photo of him in the FS. Tptb decide what we do and don't see. Have Kait torn between two lovers, have Shawn so in love and jealous that the audience roots for him and he becomes a fan favorite, leak the snapchat, have Nick continue to be supportive throughout, bring on the media frenzy, poor Shawn cannot take it, they "break up" publicly, (she still accepts his proposal) he gets bach gig, and she stays single and continues the explore Nick, firefighter, Shawn with benefits, who knows? Hope K&S are together (in spite of also liking Nick), but something about Shawn's behVior from the get go reminds me of an audition.

IMO some portions of that scenario could have made sense at one time but I think there's a lot of information out there now that makes it at this point unlikely - bordering on impossible - that she's with anyone but Shawn and that they are - as Life & Style reported so very recently - very much in love.

As Shawn said to the producer - "I love the girl" and that's a vulnerability that's not easy for a guy to admit to another guy and Shawn also said he felt like crying and that's an even harder admission for a guy to make. He said both things at a time when he didn't think he was being filmed - he thought he was talking "mano a mano" so IMO that was from the heart - not from the storyboard.

I do believe that the "storyboard" is much like we see on UnREAL - pictures with roles associated to that person. And some probably say "Husband" and some might say "Next Lead" and probably any of the "Husbands" could also be "Next Lead" prospects so in casting IMO Shawn was probably a "Husband" and probably also a "Next Lead" candidate. Had he not been picked IMO his edit would have been directed to a "Next Lead" edit and he would have been mostly aloof from the drama and sex "scandal" - as Ben H's edit is. But the situation just didn't go that way.

Yeah I'm not sure any relationship works where you can just pick up your love and attachment from one dude and casually bring all those feelings of love over to the next one. Even in crazy Bach land, I don't see this going down.

I actually disagree. I think that all of the couples that didn't make it just weren't a good match for each other and their problems started to appear AFTER filming. Many of the couples that made it included the lead sleeping with someone else (Trista, Ashley, Jason), and I personally can't think of one couple that would have made it, if the lead simply hadn't slept with the F2/F3. I think that most F1s go into it with the attitude that Courtney talked about in her book "I get that sex is an important part of your decision-making process. Do what you have to do, just don't tell me about it". I think Josh was more pissed off about having the world know about Nick sex, than actually being jealous about it; I think his/Andi's problems had much more to do with their stubborn personalities, Andi's issues with his family, and wanting different things in life. I can't really think of a final couple breaking up, where it later came out that the F1 was jealous or angry about the lead having sex with someone else. Jealousy played a role in Emily/Brad's break-up, but Brad didn't even sleep with Chantal (according to him) so even that doesn't work.

The part that I think makes a difference here is that JP likely didn't hear from Ashley (and dozens of reporters/scores of fans) during the show that she had sex with Ben. Trista probably didn't talk about it with Ryan. This is kind of a rare situation as it wasn't really made to be a 'thing' in older seasons. If the media spectacle after Ryan/Trista and JP/Ash had spent so.much.time focused on who their partners had sex with on the show, I absolutely can see that it might be an issue, not a make it or break it issue, but still an issue. I just can't compare this to times when it was out of sight, out of mind, what happened in the bedroom stayed in the bedroom.

Oh, yeah, I agree with THAT. I'm just disagreeing with the notion that having sex with the F2/F3 sets up a weak foundation for a relationship and is the reason that most couples in this franchise break up. I think that this year was a very special case. The closest we've come is probably JP/Clare alleged ocean sex and the whole "I love f-ing you". I think it comes down to how honest Kaitlyn was with Shawn before the news broke and how strong their relationship was. I do think that there has to be jealousy and insecurity involved on Shawn's part, but I don't think it's much worse to deal with than Molly having to deal with being rejected on national TV and Chris dealing with being second choice.

IA, this is going to be a major talking point in their interviews whereas it wasn't in previous couples. I hope Shawn is prepared for what's coming his way. Kaitlyn certainly seems to think he is by how flippantly she told GMA that they (meaning Shawn) forgot what show is being filmed and it's no big deal. I'm really looking forward to seeing this "no big deal" in action during their media tour now.

I really agree with this train of thought; other than Brad2 and Jason I think it was issues that came up after the FRC and after the ATFR that caused a failure.

I think most of the leads (if they are smart) do tell their F1 if they had sex with someone else and who it was - that's the best way to minimize problems after the fact IF it becomes public; I remember CH saying that on Andi's ATFR after Nick popped "the (wrong) question" she said to CH "I'm sure glad I told Josh everything". That said I think when sex wasn't talked about at anywhere near the publicness of this season it wasn't something being stuck in the face of the lead or F1 on every single interview. This season ever since the episode 1 preview sex has been nearly the only question asked of Kaitlyn and this is certain to continue once Shawn is being interviewed. I don't believe that will break anybody up - it likely is going to make them stronger - but it's not going to be a lot of fun either.

Even with those two, I would argue that it was issues after filming that caused the failures. Even if Jason's feelings for Molly didn't exist, it was very obvious that Melissa was still in love with her ex/now-husband, had never fallen in love with Jason, and had a very different maturity level, sense of humor, and lifestyle than Jason did. With Emily/Brad, I partially agree although I think that Emily's "jealousy" issues were over-stated, since Brad said even post-breakup that he never slept with Chantal; I think that they just weren't well-matched, as she was too immature and he had pretty major anger issues that she didn't know how to deal with.

Are Kailtyn and Nick the same person or something because they tweet the same things all the time...

Nick last week tweeted "Hold onto love not grudges"
Kaitlyn yesterday tweeted "Hold hands not grudges"

On the new facebook preview is Ben H. implying that Kaitlyn and Shawn slept together pre-fs or something? Did they?
