Will the show be cancelled?
Does anyone think that MAFS will be cancelled after this Season? I don't know how anyone would agree to go through what the girls have been through.

I dont think it will be cancelled, only because the 3rd ones are already married. They probably did not see all of this prior to now after there already committed. That's my . Opinion though

JMO, I think it depends upon how badly the couples come across tonight. Obviously, you can't fix a walk off on film, we have no idea what happens with Jac and Ryan and we need to keep in mind that production will try to make lemonade out of lemons. If the sponsors start to bail out, it will be ta-ta to MAFS.

I'm guessing heads will roll & people will be fired (producers). I wouldn't be surprised if the 'experts' walk or have their contracts terminated but I don't see the show being cancelled. If anything, they'll use this as a way to promote "marital hiccups" that everyone, regardless of how they met/married, goes through. Advertisers will hang around if the viewership is up so long as nothing actually happens (i.e., Duggars). Actually, I could see some divorce attorneys, counseling centers, etc. banking on the drama and purchasing ad spots as a result...

I really hope ALL the ladies are weighing out their legal options. They can't let a Contract or Major Network scare them, which I'm sure they have been somewhat bullied in all this, Jessica being #1. I hope they know that they DO have rights in all this. Whether it be for an annulment or for damages suffered, precedents are being set every day in the field of law. Contract or not, it seems the network heavily violated theirs!! I’m sure now, at day 2 or 3 of this media blow-up the girls are getting all sorts of advice. I hope they find a great lawyer, perhaps one in the Entertainment Law/Contract Law field. If they take that route, the network will have to eventually produce all documents, e-mails, everything relating to how they found these men, and everything the girls (and the public) may be questioning. Those e-mails could also be extremely incriminating if the network/producers knew, but did nothing about the abuse. I vividly remember watching the scene where Ryan FLIPS out on Jessica about the money, in the apartment, he was SO raging it seriously looked like he wanted to hurt her, and was very capable of that. Jess trusted the TV show, a successful major network, and the "Experts". When she went to the therapists after that blow up fight and voiced her concerns about his anger and how it "scared her", they hardly acknowledge it. "Tuff it out Jess" #ConArtists Where did they find these "Therapists" again??? Anyone have links to their backgrounds? This lawsuit could be huge for Jess. She talks about his anger and how it scares her throughout the entire season!! If the "Experts" from an A&E show are telling you to tuff it out and everything is going to be okay, wouldn't you do the same???? She has an excellent case. Sadly, but truthfully.

I am unaware of any reality show participant contracts that do not include a binding arbitration clause for all disputes, and arbitration is conducted in private/confidentially. NO idea what these folks signed.
The divorce angle creates the risk or opportunity of a different forum where proceedings might become more public -- i.e., in the NYS Supreme Court (the NY trial court is called that), but even then, absent leaks to the press perhaps contrary to order of a judge, it is not clear that any of the sorts of classes of documents, or testimony, would be exposed outside the parties immediately involved.
The contracts also typically disclaim all sorts of damages, etc., so she'd have to prove up fraud or willful or intentional bad acts, lack of good faith, shocking the conscience. The statement the producers released, and the approach of the "experts" (barf), seemed to imply a theme that they took reasonable steps consistent with any contractual promises or obligations to vet the Spouses, and that they were perhaps themselves deceived, and that things went south after the "Experiment" when the couples were on their own, per the contracts.
I have to think they signed away all of their common sense and assumed preposterous levels of risk for bad outcomes in hindsight.
That said, Ryan has handed them the gift of genuinely shocking behavior, documented in the public domain. He sure doesn't act in public like a dude carrying out a well-orchestrated legal strategy!

The producers are trying to wipe their hands of any responsibility by saying they had no control over what happened after filming. That might have been a good argument, except for the fact that they already documented Ryan's behavior on the show. Wasn't it a poster with insider knowledge who posted a while back saying that the arguments between Ryan and Jessica were much worse than what was filmed. If they broke up Valentine's Day, that's 2 weeks after the crew would have stopped filming, and she would have really seen what he was like off camera with no one there to intervene.
I'm not sure why the show would try to stop her from getting an annulment, and I think she should be granted one because if the experts used real psychological assessments, they would have picked up on anger management issues. It didn't take long for Ryan to show that side of himself, starting with the argument on their honeymoon when he stormed out.

Ryan even said in the last episode, I believe, that he realized that he had an anger management issue which he was going to try to control. At least, that's what I thought that I heard. ;)
JUST MY OPINION, FOLKS!!

Ryan blew up over insignificant things. That's why it is not hard for me to believe that he is using cocaine (which would make him stressed and more likely to blow up at small things).justlistening wrote:...It didn't take long for Ryan to show that side of himself, starting with the argument on their honeymoon when he stormed out.
