^^^Since date cards are usually delivered while the preceding date is happening, and since Kaitlyn is likely somewhat interested in who is getting one on ones, I doubt a change would have been made to give Nick even extra high visibility that week. He's already going to be a target on the group date and then the cocktail party. Heck, there was probably so much drama that we will barely see the Met date.

The only way Nick could have been on that date is if Kaitlyn told the guys Nick would be joining during the GD cocktail party or early next morning and the guy who was supposed to be on the Met 1-1 (not knowing he was the next 1-1) left because of the news. Or the guy simply left/was let go at the GD for other reasons.  That would leave a date with no guy. Would take the luck of the Irish for that to happen.

It seems who is chosen for which 1-1 dates early on is based on what environment/activities would be conducive to that particular person being more open to falling in love or at least embracing the process.
At the time of Met date, one of the exhibitions was Caravaggio so that might be a clue as to who.
I would have picked Clint but I'm not sure when he left.

Wasn't the rap date in NYC? I think Tanner was on that.

I think Joe got the romantic MET date since he makes it pretty far.

I thought the Met date was held at the Temple of Dendur exhibit and included dinner.  My guess is they had live musicians entertaining them to enhance the romance.  If you are into ancient history, I think it would be a very romantic date - also the museum exhibit looks intriguing and must be beautiful in the evening.   Temple of Dendur

Whomever got the 1:1 Met date would not have been on any of the NYC group dates.  JMO.

Your intuition is correct, MD.  A company I worked for held a gala in the MET.  It was truly magical... like out of a spy and/or romance novel. Marble staircases and pillars raised high, hiding shadows.  The eyes of old painted portraits following you around the room; the smooth busts of statues threatening to come to life.  It is a night I will never forget... Particularly living in NY... to experience the grand entrance hall dim, empty and silent was something really special.
