Per RS Ian eliminates himself in SA in Ep 5 "Ian Thomson talks to Kaitlyn before rose ceremony and tells her he didn’t think she was there for the right reasons and walks off."

These s/caps seem to match the location and episode?

So was he pissed off cuz she hadn't kissed him yet?  He was one of my early favorites.  Sad that he imploded. Why would people who have never watched the show go on it? Or had he  watched and jealousy and possessiveness got the better of him?  What a shame.

IG somewhere, I think maybe in the preview I saw a photo of her kissing who looks to be Ian...it is at the mansion so it is early on. They are standing up outside the mansion maybe on one of the patios.

Well, I guess it got the better of him. Oh well. His loss.

We will have to see, but I don't know if it got the better of him or if he just realized it wasn't worth any more of his time, and the producers agreed to let him make an exit. This guy is a lot smarter than the average contestant, and also is unusually aware of how fragile life is. He isn't going to waste his time once he reaches that point.

It is interesting that he was SO pro-Kaitlyn in the beginning and did such a 180. I will say that I do think that she is probably the female Ben Flajnick; I think that she thought of this as more of a fun experience to make out with a bunch of hot guys and get some exposure rather than truly meet her husband. I think that's totally fine and a way more realistic approach than most people take, but I could see why it would rub someone like Ian, who seems a bit more serious, the wrong way.

I do wonder who he is referring to when he says "his intentions". Is it Nick?

CH described him in his 5 to watch as "cerebral and analytical"

Because Ian was there for K from the getgo does not give him sole license for her affections once she is chosen and she has chosen to keep him. This is the attitude I sensed from him.

Ian seems far too mature, well-rounded, intelligent and rational for this show, otherwise I'm really ticked he wasn't pushed more as a top contender and potential Bachelor. I thought he should have "won" Broadway extra time.

And I don't fault him at all for what he says to Kaitlyn. He isn't speaking harshly or flying off the handle but tells her what he thinks. And TBH, he 's probably quite on point with his comments.

I'm bummed he didn't become a star of the season. he'd be in my top 4 with Shawn, Joshua and Jared.

The host from HuffPo's podcast said that she saw him at the Princeton Reunion selling shirts saying "the Princeton Bachelor". RS got an email saying the same thing, so it should be true. She also said she talked to him and he said that Kaitlyn was really nice.

I was bothered by how much he planned to go off on K. I am sure that he was egged on, but the pre-meditation was disturbing. I think he was harsh and said some things that were uncalled for. If he said it in the heat of a moment, I would not like it either, but planning to be cruel was a complete turn-off. (Sorry Ian, you won't make it as the Bachelor)

There might be a reason his ex-girlfriend is his ex-girlfriend.
