I do think that having the FD before MTP is difficult timing. Just about all the leads admit that they're so focused on who they're eliminating up to HTDs that they don't build enough of a relationship. Though HTDs aren't really conducive toward building relationship, they do help a little. And, considering how many f3s are sent home even before they get to the FS, 4 are definitely too many. I don't think Nick would have enough power to insist on a FD before HTDs.

I do like the idea of FD before HTD. It's a full day and night before meeting his parents then hers. Much better. It gives Kaitlyn and each of her guys more time to know each other before the families are involved.

I agree with others who think this order was planned before the season even began filming.

OK then on the bolded. Goes along too with the whole idea of doing things differently and using that old double bach playbook. And I too like the additional quality time before HTDs, notarose, despite the ick factor re: multiple sex partners.

I completely agree with the bolded. Even if it happened that way with the FD's before the HTD's, it wasn't because of Nick but rather was in the cards before they even began filming the season. I think it was likely planned that way when they first decided to put both Kaitlyn and Britt on the season together which was probably when they aired epi 2 of The Bachelor and noticed how much of a following Kaitlyn really had.
