Married At First Sight - Season 2 - Sean Varricchio - Davina Kullar - *Sleuthing - Spoilers*

I talked about this in the episode thread but think that Sean was being a typical guy and not picking up signals so I'm glad that Davina talked to him about it. I'm not like her in that I don't want someone comforting me when I cry. I get embarrassed by it so would rather they just ignore it. I was happy to see that he is willing to work on his shortcomings. Davina also needs to open up more at the moment and call him on things she sees. No guy or woman for that matter is always going to be perfect so hoping she's not expecting that.

Previews are probably the worst gauge in how the relationships are going since they're more about the drama. I'm still hopeful for them to work things out. It's still early days and editing is not our friend.

That said, you have to watch with an attitude that each is on a Hero's Journey of sorts, where the hero/ine faces challenges and must overcome them through personal growth and realization to get to the treasure at the end.  This Experiment is nothing if not that.  And all story editors these days edit to the Hero's Journey sort of story arc.  So, hope for the best, and if not, I suppose it merely means that their Hero's Journey is not yet at the Finale.  More road to walk.

Everyone looks tense on the Decision day but Davina and Sean have the worst body language. The other couples are touching and Davina looks depressed, or maybe it's just a manipulation.

Both Davina and Sean have issues. Every couple does but I think these do were walked on their whole lives. I see either of them "backing down" or being ok with compromising.

I think they are communicating really well.. They have this mature way of talking about issues. I also think they might stay together.

“I don’t want you to ever feel alone. I didn’t know that I missed a moment. I almost wish in that moment you would have said, ‘Hey moron’ and smacked me upside the head.”

Sean's response to Davina when she called him out on not knowing what she was crying about.  Hopefully he was being sincere and won't make that mistake again.

Many men are not good at listening. You need to make definitive statements. I agree that editing may be increasing the bad impression. My biggest concern is whether or not they can agree on a location and whether or not Davina can trust someone else. I am not a Sean fan. He comes across self-centered and smarmy and playing to the cameras. But I have decided to take the attitude that the experts chose these people for good reasons, that FYI insisted that they all be photogenic, and that they as people are struggling with making it work and have little, if any, control over what is shown and what is not. I suspect that Davina will not be able to fully trust in 6 weeks and that Sean may continue to hurt her unintentionally. It would be really hard to have someone analyze every motive. And I now believe that the production company may be lobbing some of the sex talk to the couples.

a lot of times when men communicate with women they overlook the need women have of feeling listened to or acknowledged. I think he communicated well in that statement
