Married At First Sight - Season 2 - Ryan Ranellone and Jaclyn Methuen - *Sleuthing - Spoilers*

Thanks for posting that, pokerkitty. I was thinking it was going too well with them and we'd have to see some issues. I had thought that their apartment split the difference. I had no idea that Ryan had the bulk of the commute. I'm still thinking they're going to work it out though. We've seen this before where even the successful couples had problems to work through.

I actually like seeing some of the disagreement. It shows that they are real and that the relationship will continue to take work and compromise from the two of them. I wonder who will end up making the bigger compromise in the end (I think Jaclyn, but just guessing). Excited to see what's next for all of the couples! I've been over analyzing all of the episodes and clips, but am just going to try to sit back and enjoy the ride and root them on no matter what is portrayed. I hope all of these participants can put up with everyone scrutinizing their every face and word via SM. I can't imagine how exhausting it must be to see negativity spewed everywhere and and try to defend yourself or other participants from the experiment.

Totally agree! I like seeing some conflict too. This reminds me of Cortney and Jason. I also had no idea Ryan had the bulk of the commute. I have a feeling they are still together due to their SM.

Love this show and can't wait for Tuesday.

I feel like you can see a big difference on the show between 2 types of couples: the ones where the storyline builds up some question marks re issues that come up but overall the viewer is still able to see in the couples interactions that there is caring, love and attraction there and it's building (ie last season with Jamie/Doug and Courtney/Jason)

vs a couple that just has issues, doesn't get along well and seems like they'd can't get away from each other fast enough and is just not 2 people who are going to fall in love or even like.

This season Ryan and Jac remind me of watching the 2 great couples from last year. I'm sure issues will come up, the show will amplify them, but watching those 2 I see caring and attraction in their eyes and their interactions. I'd be bummed if they didn't give it a try after the show.

The other 2 couples fall into the second category for me.

I don't think Ryan's mom looks like she can handle a teenager on her own. I wouldn't be surprised if they moved closer so Ryan and Jac could really be there for Kayla. Their sm makes it impossible for me to believe they're anything but happily together unless they're happily fwbs...I kid!

Good point. I didn't realize his mom was alone with Kayla. Are there any of Ryan's siblings living at the house?

Hearing Jac talk about Kayla and seeing the love Ryan has for his family makes me think she'd make it work so they could be there.

Can someone explain why Ryan takes the bulk of the responsibility for taking care of his niece and mom? What about his other brothers? It seems kinda unfair to me even though he doesn't mind.

My guess is that he was single so it was easiest at the time and him living at home already with his Mom made the niece moving in the best situation. I think the others are married with families of their own.

But wouldn't this situation make it more difficult for Ryan to start his own family? As much as I disliked Jaclyn in the beginning, putting myself in her shoes, I would feel resentful if I had to move into my husband's parent's house. I hope they don't chose this option but ultimately Jaclyn will have to make the bigger sacrifice in terms of location.

I think they could live closer to his mom,  but I can't see Jaclyn living with his mom. I also don't think Ryan would ask that of her, but we'll see. Leaving Jersey and commuting to her job is pretty big sacrifice on it's own.

I would do whatever it takes to look after the niece. I would not feel the slightest bit of resentment if I had to move in with his mother. This would also assist his Mother as I'm sure it will be more difficult for her the older she gets.

ITA GA - I hope we get to see as part of Jaclyn falling for Ryan, her realization that his commitment to his niece is forever and that for him to be truly happy he needs to be near his family. I'd love to see them buy the house next door
