Britt Nilsson - Bachelorette 11 - Discussion

My take on her behaviour is that she got insecure once Chris started showing more affection towards the other women, the culmination of which was Iowa when Jade, Whitney and Becca got their second 1-on-1's and Kaitlyn the GD rose. She realised her grand Hollywood romance was going awry, so her antics got manipulative, whether consciously or unconsciously. She wanted Chris to fight for her and beg for her to stay, so she told everyone she would be leaving unless Chris somehow changed her mind. Then when Chris didn't wish to entertain her and be manipulated, she was acting like the world was ending, trying to blame it all on Carly in the process. If she genuinely thought Chris wasn't right for her and it was best for her to leave, then she would've reacted very differently. She immediately suspected it was Carly who'd talked to Chris and tried to defend herself, yet outside while having her toddler fit, she was crying about being blindsided and thinking Carly was her friend. She knew within seconds that it was Carly who'd talked to Chris, because Carly had already expressed her frustration with her to her face. It's not a blindside when you knew the other person had something against you. She just couldn't take any responsibility for her own actions, so instead she decided to play the victim. And she continued that even months later at the WTA, still showing no signs of self-reflection. Chris had to explain to her AGAIN that it wasn't what Carly said that led to her dismissal.  

Sorry, I just can't respect that kind of immature behaviour. She may be nice person in a different setting where she feels secure, but I do think she needs to work on her self-esteem and hopefully she has since the show(s). That's what she claimed on her blog anyway. I just wish she showed some accountability as well instead of blaming the other women, the edit, the viewers etc. Her answer seems to be "I'm fine the way I am, because God loves me the way I am". Whatever makes her happy I guess, but that's not growth. JMO.

I totally like Whitney and I also like Britt.  I think both of them are very nice women with very good hearts.  I am very happy that they both seem to have found wonderful relationships outside the bubble and have moved on from CS.    JMO

I am glad Britt found someone that can appreciate her for who she is.
Her bf seems to be on the exact same wavelength as her.
When it comes to longetivity between couples, I've noticed that being on the same wavelength is that *it* factor and common thread.

I grew to like Britt after the season. On the show, she annoyed me a bit because her reactions seemed a little over the top/ not genuine. But, I recently watched it back and she doesn't really do anything wrong. She actually never said or did one bad thing to/about anyone until the 6th episode when she went home (where she acted entitled, mad Kaitlyn got the rose). I think the way she acted before that was just the way everyone feels on this show, worried about being sent home, the guy kissing others. I do think she is very genuine now, and I think most of the bad stuff was editing. She didn't handle the concept of the show as well as others, which happens EVERY season (OLIVIA). Having your friends date your BF is super weird.

I agree with you Duke, that and also the fact, as we learned later from her blog, the confusion in her life and the lack of self confidence. Not having self confidence to begin with then starting right off the bat with rumours she doesn't bathe had to have been difficult for her. I admit, she bugged me too, from early on, but after reading her blog, I felt a huge sense of remorse for thinking that way about her.

She appears to be over the moon happy as does her new b/f. I hope they enjoy a long loving relationship.

I've been reading her blog and it's actually helped me understand her. I kind of like her now! When she talked about her eating disorder and hating her body and issues with confidence...I totally related to all of it. Her flowery language still annoys me and I don't really have the same relationship with God as she does, but I liked it. And watching the current season has shown me how cliquey and judgmental these girls can be when someone is different than them, so I don't judge her as much for not being close friends with everyone.

I like Britt.
She's her own person and I admire her faith and ability to be positive and upbeat.

I was a Britt fan from day 1, and am glad that those of us that persevered in our attitudes are now seeing her in a joyful loving place.

And interesting how despite what many of the anti-Britt contingent assumed, she doesn't seem to be wrapped up in a post-show lifestyle.  

She doesn't get hookered-up in Vegas to pose for random PR events with other show rejects.  She doesn't shill random products for unspecified vendors.  She doesn't appear to participate in anything "Bachelor" related or adjacent.  She doesn't appear to spend most of her time on social media weighing in on and tweeting about everybody else still involved in the Bachelorverse.

So basically, she doesn't seem to be the rampant famewhore many people proclaimed she HAD to be.  Funny how some people can go back to being normal.  Good for her.

Just proves how the edit can fool a few, some or many IMO.

I like her too but glad she did not get the part. Seems so happy just her being the real Brit.
