IMO you have to look at the whole picture. She's holding Shawn's face in both of her hands - when you touch someone you really care about you tend to do it with full palms - as she is doing in this picture. That - to me - is more significant than the pillow. Slightly later in the scene she holds on very tightly to Shawn's face with her finger tips which suggests not only an intimacy but also an intensity. Overall how she uses her hands in this scene is very intimate - and intense.

And he turned beefy red,, reminded me of when JP told Ashley he loved her- That scene was very genuine.

Agree as well. That scene was very genuine and she definitely was not pulling away from him either at that point.

I don't agree with her but yeah, she's now rationalizing it to herself at that point. Her reactions clearly indicated Nick wouldn't be f1, no need for a proposal whatsoever imo. If your first thought after having sex with someone is fear over someone else's reaction and guilt, that man isn't for you. It's like the Johnny Depp quote- if you're in love with two people, choose the second because if the first was right, you never would have fallen in love with the second.

This brings me back to my very first impression of this whole clustereff Kait created with Nick. If she was into Nick as anything other than validation for herself and fun, she never would have been the Ette, especially if they were talking as much as the mags are reporting. I don't think she's malicious though or realizes what she's doing, just thoughtless.

I like that quote, but in this case, I think it's unclear who the "second guy" is. She told Shawn that she was falling in love with him, that she felt love at first sight with him, and that he was the one first, so I would think that Shawn was the first guy and Nick was the second. You can argue that if she meant all those things she said to Shawn, she wouldn't have had sex with Nick and wouldn't have agreed with him when he said "when we met, it was like a where have you been my whole life kind of moment". I don't know, I think she was genuinely confused at the time; even though her subconscious might have been telling her it was Shawn, I think she wasn't willing to anyone go until she absolutely had to.

Chasing, I was referencing her going on the show in the first place. If she was serious whatsoever about Nick and he wasn't simply on her fun loving man leash as HGL posted yesterday, going on the show wouldn't have happened imo.

IA that once she actually got on the show, she started becoming confused and distraught over what she's doing. She tried to take her normal fun life self to this format and it doesn't translate. The databases don't speak, we need a foreign key to link fun life Kait to crazy show format, for all you data geeks

I would agree with Jason & Molly's comments about the pillow IF two people are sitting side by side and the woman puts a pillow between herself and someone else. That's very similar to sitting side by side but leaning away from another person (as Kaitlyn did with Nick) and it suggests an emotional distance. But K & S are not sitting side by side - she's more in his lap with her legs draped across his which is a rather intimate position and the pillow is more of a support for her arms so she can touch Shawn's face.. Ashley H did this with JP all the time - often rather immodestly because of how short her skirts were. IMO the pillow is probably there more for comfort because she was otherwise pulling Shawn in to kiss her but even more that she was holding his face in both of her hands, palms against his face and even digging her fingers into him which is starting to cross the line from intimacy into passion. I don't see any ambiguity or confusion here - in fact to me this was one of the most telling scenes of the episode in terms of body language showing an emotional connection.

I wouldn't expect her to be that serious about a guy she's never met. I'm sure it was just flirty fun to begin with, but got serious once he showed up. Doesn't mean she didn't want him to show up.

Since Nick has been F2 and let go pre-FRC he may have had suspicions that they would do things differently and have 2 guys but he was aware that usually first guy goes early in the day. So having Nick go later in the afternoon/evening would probably make Nick think he is F1. I think that was intentional by TPTB to get the most dramatic response from Nick to blindside him. Same as them letting him on SM while filming - making him feel comfortable so he wouldn't question as much since they knew he would.

I heard somewhere that Shawn was kept "waiting" for an hour- drama with Nick? or getting it together by Kaitlyn. Anyway FWIW, Trista's FRC was after dark- candlelit.
