Real life discussions and real life dates
I don't know if this was mentioned, but it is interesting that the make muscles move was made by Becca in episode 9 and the kids, when Chris did it in the Intro. (We also saw Jillian make it, but there's no doubt how their relationship turned out.) Interesting when Becca's FSD date included interaction with kids - as did Josh and Andi's date focusing on both that and his love for baseball - farming techniques, discussion of whether someone would be right for someone as a spouse and would be a good parent (with the village medium) So much focus on the virgin question throws us off track as to how the actual relationships are progressing. In 2 instances we hear from Chris how he sees their relationship progressing - to medium, we are dating and falling in love. In their rose ceremony discussion, we hear from him why he brought those things up - him and her falling in love outside of the show - and we hear from her that he opened up with her.
Boat dates have always been shown as being important, but a date that shows 2 people exploring how real life together would be - especially when we are clearly shown that was part of the FS discussion, as well as the culmination of the HTD where Chris says Becca helped him envision a life with her - seems to be on track with pursing a relationship with the goal toward marriage with that person. In episode nine we hear about (in FS) and see (Chris pulling Becca away from the rose ceremony) a continued discussion from the 2nd-1-on-1 loft date (Chris asking her where she was at and if this whole thing could work for her).

Make muscles move - Jillian but also Kaitlyn when she was talking about how the raft guide pulled Jade out of the water. This reminds me of him saying, on the raft date date, something along the lines of he wouldn't mind Whit saving him if he fell in. The date card said "rapidly falling" so could this mean he sees Whitney as someone who can ground him? I do get the sense that Becca is his "dream girl" at this point like Jade was his "high school crush" girl. Whitney represents the "dream of a future" in that she wants everything he said he came on the show for: to move to Arlington, marry, and have babies.
Chris' comment about dating and falling in love - that was interesting especially since it was the first date where he and Becca were around other people. With Kaitlyn he called her his girlfriend and said she was beautiful but made no statement about feelings. No interaction with locals on Whitney's date aside from the boat captain.
I think Becaa asking the guru if Chris would make a good father also impressed him. I think Becca and Britt are the only two he has had a conversation with about number of children. On the FS date with Becca, groups of children were shown twice - group of boys showing their muscles & group of boys outside temple.. On Kaitlyn's date children were shown once (doorway with their mom). Whitney talked about the other half of her happiness being her desire to be a wife and mom.
Chris and Whitney talking about her sister was a real moment but did remind me of Claire as did the HTD bottle of wine for her future husband (like Claire's dvd). Chris pushing quite hard to drive home the reality of Arlington life was great. Very real especially since he needs to make a decision in about a week's time about a possible engagement. I'm not convinced he proposes. Telling 2 women directly on camera he is falling in love with them and telling CH (and in ITMS) he is falling in love with all 3 and wants all 3 to meet his parents could be a set up for something a bit different. Planting the seed of "too many loose ends"; need more time.
I thought Chris talking about agricultural techniques was cute. Hmm, I did think Becca looked a bit uninterested or at least we heard nothing from her in the edit.
Somewhere CH said or wrote that it was production that suggested Chris pull Becca aside at the RC.
IMO the scene with Becca at the stream kissing looked very staged however I did think Chris running his hand up her leg was a "sign of life". I also thought the edit flipping from Becca walking along the beach to Chris having his long confused self-talk was hokey. For all we know, Becca's beach shots could have been from Cali - her application vid. It was just unbelievable.
Becca and Kaitlyn are the only ones he consistently, throughout the season, began convos with asking where they were at in the process or regarding their concerns or feelings. Whitney is very forthcoming and leads the convo so that may be why he hasn't consistently asked her. Some have said they feel Whitney leads in their relationship. I think Chris just adapts to whoever he is with as long as he agrees. When he doesn't agree, twice seen with Britt, he becomes contained and terse.
I believe Chris has been the most guarded one of the show. He is devoid of the kind of intense passion I would expect at this point - physical or in conversation about anything. His laugh is spontaneous but otherwise it seems to me that he is far too contained. JMO.

Great post nr.
I especially agree with this, and is what's been missing but couldn't put my finger on it.

I think his laugh or giggle is often done out of nervousness and stress. JMO

This is a great point and made me think. Whether he chooses Becca or Whit, (I am leaning towards Whit after the US article), I REALLY want chris to show some passion. Prove it to me and the viewers that you want to be with your final 1 and it was not just a coin toss.

I feel like Chris is not showing intense passion to all the girls because he is an extremely respectful man and he is saving it for his F1. Just like he told Chris H. that he can't say he is in love with Whitney while there are 2 other girls still there. It's all out of respect for his F1, F2 and F3. But boy oh boy is it boring to watch.

Sometimes (maybe often!) At other times he does seem to be reacting to the situation.
His giggles during the love guru date with Carly and also his response giggle to the guru's "make love" statement did seem to be a nervousness cover up. Perhaps his giggle fest with monkeys using him as a climbing apparatus was nerves as well . Situations like parts of the scenes with Jimmy K had a series of belly laughs as did the man boob scene in Bali.

Agreed. Especially after Chris' tweet responding to Fliess. Once again re enforcing how difficult it was for him to make a choice. Which ever way we spin it, it's a derogatory comment towards any one of the F3. I think if this is their way of showing how conflicted he was and how he "really" was falling in love with all three, it's backfiring, for me.
I'm beginning to think he is trying to choose between those that are "all in and say they are ready to move" which is the safe scenario and what he was looking for, and the one that he thinks isn't so sure at this point, that he is falling in love with. JMHO

Yes. It's a very technical approach. Insert a & b into c = mission complete.
a - wife material; b - wants babies; c - Arlington.

If he really proposes to Whitney at the end, despite feeling just as strongly for Becca, then what a slap in the face of Whitney's sister, who was basically telling him that she'll give her blessing once he knows she's the only one for her.

Where do you get that he feels as strongly for Becca as he does for Whitney at the end? I don't think we know yet how he feels at the end. I would bet that Chris calls Whitney's sister and asks for her blessing before the FRC if she is the F1.
