Bachelor 19 - Chris Soules - Episode 5 - *Spoilers & Sleuthing* - Discussion

I felt terrible for Carly tonight. That date was so awkward and inappropriate for a first date.  She is a sweet girl.  Again, tptb exploited someone's fear/weakness.  I think she would make a nice 'ette because she is fun, loving, and seems to have her priorities set for marriage.  

I was annoyed because right when Carly told CS that her last boyfriend was not physical with her, my local channel cut in to tell me that it snowed here today and that it's cold outside tonight.  No sh@$, Sherlock!  Argh! I missed the one time that I think CS spoke!  From what I did see, I think they showed Carly in a good light.  Did I miss anything that would be a negative for them choosing her as the next 'ette?

Carly needs to stop talking so much.  Her nerves are getting the better of her. But I do adore her.

I love Carly...one of my favorites this season. Seems like she's been in a lot of relationships that haven't been good for her. Adorable, honest, funny, sweet. She is also vulnerable and not very self confident. I think TPTB would eat her alive and spit her out.

If Carly were to be the 'ette, I think she'd be a bit little Ashley H as the 'ette. But, hey, AH hooked JP!

^^^ I agree. I think she is kind of getting the b-ette edit. Question is whether she gets far enough. I suppose we'll see if she gets much airtime beyond tonight.

This episode was over the top with Kelsey, Britt and Ashley I. I don't know if Kelsey is a plant or not but her story if true is used to get Chris' attention and get a rose. Then she almost laughs at the group because she thinks her rose is secured....who would do such a despicable thing? Britt is totally acting, seems like the girls at least can see through her. Ashley I. has such an inflated opinion of herself and is so immature. All three of them just need to leave!

Do TPTB really think this OTT display makes people want to keep watching this show? If I didn't think there was at least a chance for a real love story in the end I would stop watching. Very disappointing.

Chris always talks about how Whitney makes him feel happy. It makes me happy.

Big bonus points for @C_Soules giving @whitbisch a rose without even seeing her mature reaction to Ashley I!

I am just stunned  that not one of the girls went to help Kelsey.  Even just to hold her hand.  I don't like that at all.

The Britt edit was strange tonight, they even showed her describing and putting on dirty socks for her 1-on-1 date. Ew! (She probably didn't stink because she was in the pool everyday but I don't understand why she wouldn't want to shower to rinse off the chlorine and soap up, etc.) Then we're told she's lying to Chris about wanting kids. I can't see her getting the Bette lead after tonight but stranger things have happened.

Carly is even more Ashley H than Ashley H, if that makes sense. I think she's a little too insecure to pull it off and I'm worried about the bro types messing with her head because she isn't their dream vision of a trophy wife so they want to bail but still get as much screen time as possible. Remember the comedy club group date? Poor Ashley, tptb would definitely do the same sort of thing to Carly.

My vote goes to Kaitlyn (so far), even though she isn't my favorite bachelorette this season. I think she's a terrible match for Chris but she'd be a good lead. I looked up her age, 29! Sounds good.

That freaky love guru put bad karma on this entire episode.
