I still think Whitney is F1 but I am struggling with whether to continue rooting for that. I love Whitney and I want her to find her happy, and right now it is obvious she wants Chris and I do see a lot of signs Chris wants her. But between tonight's episode and the preview, I am starting to get nervous that she was the default F1, that he either wanted Becca but went along with what his mothers and sisters thought was best or that he was truly torn between Becca and Whitney and Whitney was the safe choice.

Whitney is too good IMO to be F1 by default and it would only be a short term happiness followed by an inevitable break up.

I don't want to think this way but I can't help it, so I would welcome anyone pointing out that I am just dead wrong.

I understand what you're saying, but to me, I don't think he is or was ever torn between Becca and Whitney. I think he was torn between Kaitlyn and Becca. Which one to take to F2 and which one not to take as he knew he was going to break one of their hearts. Chris even let it slip in one interview.. can't remember which one, where he said he knew pretty early on. That Chris Harrison convo of him saying, you haven't even mentioned Whitney in all of this says a whole lot to me. Even more when Chris admitted he knew where one rose was going.. knowing he was talking about Whitney. And for him to choose her first every single rose ceremony since that wedding crashing date... he's never waivered. IMO

I really don't get a vibe that Whit is the default...in fact pretty much the opposite because that is what they are trying to make me think.

I agree that Whitney was a no brainer and he couldn't decide between Becca and Kaitlyn to let go. At this point in the game the poor guy is a sobbing mess...just like he told us he would be. He is a nice guy and he likes them all for different reasons. He knows they are invested in him...at least to some degree and he doesn't want to hurt anyone. Plus, we know the producers are just messing with all their heads big time at this point.

They spent sooooo much time on Becca and they edited their date to be last...so as to be fresh in our minds to make us forget that self satisfied/relieved look he had when Whitney told him about moving and becoming a wife and mother. That was a happy man.

I'm still sticking with the original plan. I could be wrong. It wouldn't be the first time, but I'm pretty confident that Becca is not F1. I thought he was going to burst out laughing when she told him she was a virgin. Not exactly the reaction one would expect.

I love this thread and this is where I will spend most of my time until the finale. I think Chris and Whit make a great couple and are the best match. That's my answer and I'm sticking to it!

I honestly don't think it has been a horse race for a while, I think Whitney had him early. That is why Becca's storyline had to be amped up. Chris obviously had a selection to pick from early on and at his age with what he has to offer, I am sure he framed every date with "can I see, ________ living in Arlington with me? How does she fit in with MY life?".
While Becca might have intrigued him, and why not, using he words, she is the total package. BUT, he could not see her down on the farm. She is still a kid in many ways, whereas Whitney has a certain calm, maturity and has lived her life. I will be stunned more so than ever, which says a lot given tptb if it is not Whitney.

I think "incredible" is the new "amazing" for Chris. I think Chris uses incredible to describe a generic feeling and Whit was the only woman he did not call incredible in his blog.

a few thoughts:
1.  I am a firm believer that there can be seasons in your life and each one an important part of life.  Whitney had a season of education and career.  Next she is looking to have a season of creating a family and motherhood.  After their children are grown, or in school she might go back to work in the nursing field.  I speak from experience, education and career, then stay at home mom, then working mom.  Now my kids are grown I have a career, but I am hoping to pull back from my career when I hope that I get to be in the season of grandchildren.  

2.  I respect Whitney that she does not talk about her previous relationships or her "experience or non-experience."  She may be a virgin or like Sean decided to wait for marriage or be "experienced."  That is between her and Chris.  Becca did not need to talk about that until they were in private in the FS.  But the Bachelor production just needs that for their story line and they are using her.  

3.  I like both Whitney and Becca but see that at very different points in their lives.  Becca would want to date for a while long distance and Whitney would be willing to do like Catherine, Des and Andi move to where they can live at least near each other.   I understand what Whitney said about Becca.  If Chris is indeed interested in Becca, then I think it put a bit of a kink in her feelings for Chris.  Becca is a lovely girl but not willing to move to Arlington anytime soon.  Then Whitney is saying Chris is not really being honest when he says he is looking for a wife now.  I think Kaitlyn is delightful, and I think that it would have made more sense to Whitney if Chris would have kept Kaitlyn, she seems to be more in the same stage of life as Whitney.  I think Whitney truly likes Becca , but how can she not feel some jealousy and question Chris in this choice.

4. I do not like this edit at all I think that it hurts the future relationships with the families involved.  It is not necessary for the story.  Last nights show left me sort of blah.. and sad for all of them.  I can not believe that this is endearing to either family, certainly not to Whitney's sister.

I have to presume that last nights program and thru the final one will be scripted to get the audience to watch. I agree he made up his mind some time ago that it will be Whitney. Why would he choose a 26 year old whose life experiences would never match his, never been in love. There is something wrong with Becca never being in love before.But, it is her choice. I resent the bachelor organization feeding the press lies to further viewership.

Yes I agree it is a TV program, but at least those that run it could have some character.

If Whit is f1, I wouldn't sweat last night at all. IMO what he says to them both and what they declare in ITMs or say while in the bubble means nothing. Chris and whoever he is engaged to (I think Whit) basically started their relationship when the show ended. I'm sure they've done lots of talking and planning since then so I'm curious what they have to say at the ATFR.

Crossing my fingers that Whit didn't quit just yet.
