According to Celebrity Net Worth, the farmer is worth 1.5M. That's just him. My guess is that the family trucking business is worth a lot, and remember that when he had one of the girls at the farm, he implied that everything they could see was owned by the family. Oh, yeah, he's also a real estate guy (he loves land). He was quite comfortable showing his hand when he told Andi she wouldn't have to work.

I do not see him leaving the farm for a woman, any woman. He's left for school and come back. The FRC is at the farm. I think he's being quite open about the facts of his surrounds, even if he isn't needed so much (Andi's season, his season, and a probably short stint on DWTKindaS).

Just to get it out of my brain, I thought the scene with Kaitlyn's departure was one of the most real I've seen. Unvarnished pain for both of them. No hysterics, just sadness.

My guess is that Chris's net worth is a lot more than $1.5M. He (his family) owns 6000 acres of farmland, scmiiw.

In December of 2013, farmland in Iowa was going for an average of $8716/acre. (Link). The price of farmland fluctuates with the price of corn, etc. so it has dropped, but it's still up there near $8000.

Multiply 6000*8000. That's a lot of do-re-mi. I realize this is shared with his family, but I would think he has more than $1.5M of it.

IA that the farm is his life but I think he may be able to live part of the time in Chicago if he picks Whitney. I'm sure they could both compromise if they really want to.

I do know a farmer's worth is dependent on amt of land at current value, calculated average price of crop yield plus grain in storage, and resale price of equipment.  Farmers also carry high debt because few can afford to pay cash for a $400-800 thousand piece of equipment. Yep, 2-3 pieces of large equipment can total $1M when new. The net worth of a farmer isn't cash in the bank.   His or her annual income is very dependent on product futures and the weather.  Despite all that, he is definitely well off and will be very wealthy when he sells and retires.  He would be even wealthier if his land was near an expanding urban centre but Arlington is obviously not. 

He seems like a savvy businessman.

As it does with nearly all farmers. My uncle has a lot less acres than Chris and he has a pretty good stack of government subsidies. Just saying it is part of the farming game, to assist with unstable prices, etc.

It's just more info. There was no judgment in what I posted, though I do have opinions about farm subsidies. If he's entitled under current law, go for it.

The article is saying there should be a cutoff after which the highest income farmers should receive a lower subsidy percentage.
