Re: Bachelor 19 - Kelsey Poe - Discussion
It's a shame.
The first shame being that ,if indeed, her contract stated it could portray her in anyway they choose (including a negative, humiliating fashion), Kelsey chose to go ahead and do this show anyway.
Very hard lesson learned.

I still think it's pretty awful to describe yourself as "amazing" when referring to how you bravely dealt with the grief. I don't think that she should be getting cyberbullies for it (no contestants do), but her sister didn't really change my opinion of her.

From Kelsey's sister:
Kelsey's story is in fact amazing! I am truly disappointed in the footage that ABC decided to air and the way it showed no sensitivity to Kelsey and Sanderson. I have been there for my sister since the day Sanderson passed, and it has not been easy. It is never easy for someone to move on after a tragic loss happens. The footage you saw where Kelsey said, "Isn't my story amazing?" was in regards to her story of how she overcame such horrific grief. In no way was Sanderson's death amazing. It is amazing that Kelsey found the strength to seize each day, travel the world by herself, meet new people and take on new hobbies. She chose to take on each day rather than stay in bed crying; that takes a strong person to do that. She has used her experience to help others who have lost a loved one and serves as a role model to empower them to stay strong. I am disgusted by the way Kelsey was portrayed on the show and the comments/messages people are sending. No one ever deserves to be bullied, receive hate mail or be harassed... only bits and pieces of her story and footage have been shown. Thank you to those of you who are sending positive and encouraging words for Kelsey, I love sharing those uplifting words with her. I will not allow the cyber bullying to reach Kelsey, no one should ever be treated with such disrespect especially regarding her deceased husband, Sanderson. For those of you wanting to know more about Kelsey and how she has coped with her loss please read her blog after the season is done airing: www.anomalyme.com
My heart hurts for my older sister. She is truly as sweet and caring as her friends and family claim she is... it's unfortunate that ABC viewers don't get the opportunity to see that.

Sincerely,

I can understand the sister's explanation that the show edited those scenes, but I absolutely cannot understand that the sister attributed the "amazing story" to her story of overcoming grief. I don't know ANYONE who has ever called moving on with life after their horrible loss (myself included) "amazing". Kelsey's statement was bad enough, but the sister's explanation is downright bizzare.

Kelsey is pretty buttoned up, and by that I mean that everything you see with Kelsey, between what she wears, how she presents herself, what she expresses, is all very much in order and carefully controlled. The scarf is perfectly tied, the outfit is carefully coordinated. IMO, Kelsey needs that state of control. I think her "my amazing story" line is part of that carefully scripted persona that she harbors. She is pleased with herself because she has stayed on script and is moving on with her life, right as scheduled. Under it all, I suspect she hasn't really let herself come to terms with everything - those were unscheduled events that disrupted how she had her life scripted to flow and I bet Kelsey is reeling inside but just can't let herself fall apart - she has placed too much value on keeping it all together to let that happen. Girl needs to climb up a mountain and scream obscenities from the top of it and just let it all come out.

I think it's pretty safe to say Kelsey will not be the next b'ette.

CH pretty much bashes her in today's blog and TV Guide interview and strongly hints the whole panic attack was manufactured drama (manufactured by Kelsey)

After last night’s episode, Kelsey tweeted: “Sander’s death was absolutely devastating, but finding a way to live through it and my strength to survive is amazing.”
She has done nothing that millions of people before her have done, are doing now and will do in the future. I have yet to know someone who has not lost someone they loved. I'm not trying to trivialize the pain of grief and surviving, but that is life for all of us at one time or another. So I guess I don't see it as amazing.

I never thought of of it that way, but reading your post, I think you have a good point about her buttoned up and carefully scripted persona. Very perceptive.

Kelsey kissing Chris was just really creepy. You could tell he wasn't into it but was just trying to be nice.

Re: Bachelor 19 - Kelsey Poe - Discussion
I know of devastating loss. Our family, myself and my daughter in law cried for about two years... however we did still work, took care of each other and drew close as a family. I do understand Kelsey when she says that her story is amazing. I would say the same of my daughter in law... however, for our family we were just beginning to really breath at 18 months. I agree with the person above that she might just need to go to the top of the mountain and yell and cry... however that is for her. It seems like she is really trying to hold it together. Everyone deals with grief in their own time frame. I just hope that she and the public know that it is okay for her to not be perfect, and be okay one minute and totally not the next. It seems like she needs a lot of Grace and Healing yet. I really hope that her support family and friends just love her right now... no judgments. If she wanted the adventure to go on this show to see how it went... that is her choice. It just may have been harder than she thought it would be. It seems like she still has a lot of fragile edges.
