The Bachelor Canada - Season 2 - Episode 5 - Oct 14 - Discussion - *Spoilers*

ITA the 'story' we see in one hour leaves me wondering what really happened as the editing and cutting scenes is so very obvious, I then read the After The Rose Blogs to fill in the gaps. I was puzzled that all we were shown was Dom talking to the girls after they got the group date card saying she wouldn't be surprised if she did not get a 1-on1. Then the next time you see her she is knocking on Tim's door and eliminating herself. However, reading the Blogs both Sachelle and Trish say that Dom did get a 1-on-1 but this date is not mentioned in either Tim or Dom's blog. Wonder what the date consisted of. Then, in April's blog she talks about meeting Tim's best friend and his fiancee on her date. Also Lisa, Sachelle and Trish mention in their blogs how intoxicated Lisa got at the cocktail party, that she told Tim off and fell asleep under the coffee table. Makes me wonder if Nat had not shown up and been sent home at the RC that if after her behavior at the cocktail party Lisa might have been the one to be sent home? Hmmmm! I wish the episodes were more than 1 hour so we could at least make some sense of what we see. As a side note, did anyone notice that when Kaylynn was shown going into the bathroom stall crying that when she tried to close the stall door we can see a hand push it open - wonder if that was one of the ladies or the camerman? Too funny!

April hidden or not, the way I see it is, we have s/caps of her and Tim that they never showed. She is hidden because there's so much more going on that we aren't seeing, she's not hidden because it appears she is getting the F1 edit, music etc.

Also, we can't compare Bachelor Canada to much on other franchises, because IMO they aren't afraid to show the love story. If we are used to trying to sleuth the F1 as opposed to them showing the F1, those are two different edit methods. There will be similarities to a point, but I would rather not have a surprise F1 and instead watch a love story.

I agree GA and have said that about both Canadian Bach seasons..... our producers are different although they do follow the same "formula" of the dating process....we're not afraid to show what the audience wants... a love story!! when I want to watch a mystery, I'll watch CSI .. and when I want to watch a romance... I watch a movie on TWN or the Bach

Exactly. Now I read in the other thread that April's blog mentions meeting Tim's friend during the hometown, which obviously they never showed. one of my comments last night about their 1/1 date (and that was before I knew that she met his best friend and fiancé!!) was that now I understood why April hadn't gotten a 1/1 until so late..... it's because he was saving his TO date for her so he could see he in his element, and show her a very important landmark in TO that changed his life. And I bet he called ahead and made the arrangements to get the opinion of his buddy on the girl that he was falling head over heals for

FWIW...I have a couple of friends who just casually watch the show. Both of them think that April is F1. The one that I watched the first episode with had April in the final four list that we did that first night. Ever since, with each new episode, he is more convinced that she is the one.

That was an incredible moment when he shared that info with her. He was pouring his heart out, she was hesitant. Another indication, when the leads offers way more info than necessary about their personal lives.

Good point on having her meet his buddy. Like you said, he probably wanted that date set up for the one he was falling for at that point.

Yes, that's why I always try to watch at least the first episode with someone who likes to watch, but isn't as obsessed about this show as I am. Particularly for the US version where I usually have all the spoilers and know who is picked. I want to see if I am seeing what is there or what I have been told is there. Funny enough, the casual viewers are pretty much spot on about the top 4-6. It's only later on that they often get confused by the tricky edits.

I doubt there are many people who don't think April is the one. He's so clearly into her, desperately looking for signs that she likes him too. Their date felt more real than any Bachelor date I remember seeing. Unless she decides to leave on her own, there is no chance in hell he'll pick anyone else. I really wouldn't be surprised if he eliminated the rest before the finale already. They're leaving out so much of their interaction as it is that they couldn't really do much more to hide her, even if they wanted to.

I have no problem with snark, but I dislike Lisa. She seems full of herself and scolding Kaylynn about the kiss was just ridiculous. If someone was disrespecting the other girls, it was Tim. Kaylynn doesn't owe them anything. However, Kaylynn's insecurity is so tiresome to watch. Why does she even care what Lisa says? I would've just shrugged and told her he kissed me. Instead she falls apart and immediately starts bawling whenever someone says anything assertive. I know she's been bullied and all, but she's an adult now, enough is enough.

Weird we didn't get to see Dominique's date. I was sure there'd be 2 one-on-ones and then she just showed up seemingly right before hers and complained about not getting enough time and I was like whaaat. But I guess they'd had their date already. That makes more sense, if the spark just wasn't there. I suppose they didn't have time to show it with the group date and Natalie drama and figured might as well skip it since she left anyway. Weird how I'm usually bored during the 2 hour eps, but these just fly by and I'm left hoping they were longer.

Nat is just cray and needs to eat more. I think she has some issues that extend to weight control. Trisha and Sachelle are alright, but I don't think he's that into either of them.

Tim's date with April did seem like a normal date. You can see they are both into each other, but slightly hesitant...particularly April. I did love how she teased about whether she deliberately lost that pool game and admitted in her blog that she did. Very cute.

I also wondered about the 1:1 date with Dom. I know they sometimes leave stuff out after editing, but I don't think I ever recall a whole date not be shown. That is very weird to me. I wonder if it ended up being along the lines of Natalie's date from the previous episode?...birds chirping, awkward?

I finally watched the episode and I believe April is f1 and kaylen is crazy and I do not like lisa
